I will never forget my grandmother talking about going back home and she stopped dead and said “Never go out in the country with no gas, always stop on the highway and fill up.” Mind you she grew up on a farm.

I just saw a video of someone asking a Black woman about why she was at the opera and if it was her first. And this is why I don't engage strangers in chit chat when I go certain places. I will look dead at you and look straight ahead if you do that shit.

Sometimes when I go to the salon and my stylist asks me what I want, I say dealer’s choice and let her pick. I can only do this bc after 20+ years she knows not just my head but my tastes. It’s nice not to have to make a decision and still get a great result.

I think it’s good to reserve the best of your personality for the right people, true friends and loved ones. It’s really a joy to spoil those people and receive love in return, pay the rest dust.

No. Once it started being about money and entertainment the authenticity was shot. Think about it pros used to play many sports, they cut that out. Every time you get a league or sport that’s profitable it’s co-opted. Betting just puts more pressure on the system but it was never about sport.
Has sports-betting damaged the authenticity of sports in any significant way, or nah not really?
