How did we get to fascism?

As we figure out how to get out of this mess, we need to look at how we got here.

Is this the unique result of US history or a reflection of authoritarian trends around the globe?

Andrea Pitzer, who studied concentration camps on six continents, says, "Why not both?"

On this day in 2014, Michael Brown, an unarmed Black teenager, was killed by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri. A grand jury refused to indict the officer, who was never held accountable.

Local jails–mostly run by elected sheriffs–are making money off of ICE's rampant criminalization of immigration.

At 18 years old, with plans of starting college, #MichaelBrown died #OTD after he was shot by a Ferguson, Missouri, police officer. The teen was unarmed.

Today, we remember Michael.
