MY BODY MAY BE HEALED, MY MIND MAY BE CLEAR, BUT THE BLOOD ON MY HANDS WILL NEVER COME OFF.
Reposted by Kaine Parker.
Another nightmare. Fuck.
Thwip!

Kaine swung through the streets of Houston, and the chill of the night air kept him awake and his senses sharp. It felt good to be here, like coming home, which was an odd sentiment he couldn’t shake. Still, patrol continued, and with each swing, he let Houston know he had returned.
Being and doing good."

Kaine paused.

"Did I ever..." Very audible Hiccup. "Tell you after the time you died with the multiverse crap, I based my whole being better thing off of you? Not Peter, not Uncle Ben or Aunt May. But you."
Ben was...Right.

"I think..."Kaine paused, head lulling over to meet Ben's gaze.

"I'm sort of terrified of not being what I'm used to, you know? Killing bad guys, taking their cash, the whole scary spider thing is all I've known. All I'm good at. You and Pete have that experience of actually --
"Death is hot." He agreed. It was one of those sentences he wasn't sure he'd amit as he cracked himself another beer...

How many was that now? Enough to make his skin tingle and vision blur slightly despite the size difference between him and his brother. Parkers and alcohol, bad mix...Or, good mix.
Figured. So what rich asshole did you take them off this time?
And with himself, he brought two hot coffee's. One with creamer, sugar, and even chocolate sprinkles.

Kaine's was just black. Unironically, he actually did like it like that.

"Those better be the donuts from the place on 5th." Kaine said as he arrived, expertly not a drop spilled of the coffee.
The usual spot. Had to be the Empire State Building.

Had been a while since he hung out there. Good spot to clear your head. If Kaine was so eager to hang, must have meant he was going through something too.

Didn't need a Spider-Sense for that.

"Be there in fifteen. I'm bringing the donuts."
"Sure. Wanna meet at the usual spot?" Something about meeting and then jumping off the Empire State Building wa definitely in the Parker DNA, Kaine couldn't even deny it.
Ever try to kill your siblings once or twice? Don't. Otherwise, you will suffer them quipping at you for the rest of your life as penance.
"Oh my god, quit it. Is tormenting me just something you enjoy doing?"
"Guess responsibility follows you around."
"Well one hopped straight into my apartment so I wouldn't say that's my fault."
"Listen, man, I don't care how cool I look or who the fuck you are, I'm busy, I don't have time for chit chat. You're either helping me bust these guys or I'm busting your damn skull."
"Well damn, you have attitude... I was going to say how cool your outfit look but I don't know now.

"I'm not with them no." He shook his head
"Hello. Hi. Satisfied?" Kaine sighed as he cast his masked glare to what he was watching, a drug deal that was about to unravel.

"Making sure I jump these morons at the right time. Are you with them?"
Who need getting rid of. That's what my mask means, and that's basically all I'll ever be. It's not something I take lightly, but I'm settled with it." He wasn't, but another beer would help fix that.
"...I sort of wanted to be a police officer once. Someone I met inspired me...I realised I can't, basically. I might always be a Spidey, but I can never be Kaine Parker. The money I have is dirty, I've seen so much life leave the eye's of people. I became the person who gets rid of those --
Could get any job you set your eyes on." He nodded. "I'm serious, you know? Anything. You need to not be so hard on yourself." Kneeling down next to his brother, he made himself comfy.

"Should I ignore the fact that you just drunk my beer and then insulted me?" It didn't bother him, honestly. --
Jesus that drink went to him quick, the showing off and flopping it didn't help his mood as Kaine noted it suddenly went, sour.

Damn.

"Grey isn't bad, it was just basic. Glad you like it though." He hummed as he listened to Ben, thinking of his choice of words carefully.

"Honestly Ben? You--
"Sure. Wanna meet at the usual spot?" Something about meeting and then jumping off the Empire State Building wa definitely in the Parker DNA, Kaine couldn't even deny it.
"Hey Kaine. You busy? Was thinking of patrolling. Maybe beat some people up. Whaddaya say?"

Ben paused. Nevermind the existential crisis he was going through. Fists to faces was the best therapy.
He'd just about bandaged his hand when the phone began to ring.

Why did he still have this thing?

Momentarily, he ignored it, before he noticed it was Ben and answered.

"Yeah?"
