Hello new friends! Have you played Seasonspree yet?

It's a cute little game about cute little animal friends, and you control the flow of time by walking left & right. It's really good, and not very long, because your time is valuable!

Switch: bit.ly/seasonsprees...

Steam: bit.ly/seasonsprees...

A game about nurturing friendships and celebrating the changing of seasons, where you play as Sunny, a cute little tanuki with the ability to control the flow of time just by walking around.

I hate to say it, but Pyre. Loved Bastion and Transistor so much, but Pyre scrapped nearly everything that made those games wonderful.

I was pretty lucky that it kept crashing on my phone, so for the first time in my life I watched a let's play, and was pretty relieved that I didn't play through it by myself. I love games with time mechanics, and this fell short in so many ways.

Bluesky and Reddit are the only places I've heard about this. I expect a handful of progressive YouTubers will bring it up in the next few days, but they tend to be behind schedule on things like this.

Turns out quitting and restarting the app got rid of it. I am so confused.

Anyone know enough about DaVinci Resolve to help me collapse this weird part where it shows the transform properties of the clips in track 3?

As the only human who doesn't understand the appeal of Doritos flavor, I'm slightly interested, but in a world full of gingerbread-flavored things, I also feel like there's no need to chance it

"If you want…" followed by "the product should…" is precisely how the CEO of a company with no interest in user research would speak.

Altman is the worst kind of fake nerd, because he's convincing a bunch of powerful people that he's creating a real product.

Oh good, ChatGPT is getting "erotica for verified adults" later this year
We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right.

Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases.

In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing).

In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our “treat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.

I liked this idea, with the logo you can read both ways, but it doesn't match the tone of the film at all. I remember a pretty lengthy discussion about it on a LiveJournal community back in the day.

I imagine the brief included "Don't worry about legibility; everyone will recognize the people on the cover."

I've been trying to convince them to let me fix it for a year. I've told them how much experience I have in dashboard and developer portal design, and I'd move to Redmond in a heartbeat and have a fully tested design in six months. But they don't see anything wrong, because games are going online.

I'd hand over a significant chunk of my revenue to a publisher just to handle redundant nonsense like this.

I can't be the only one having problems with Nintendo's dumb portal, but I imagine a lot of people don't speak up because they don't think it'll lead to anything, they don't want to get on the company's bad side, or the people using the portal are engineers, who are famously forced to use bad tools.

Me: I'd like to adjust the price of my game

Steam: Cool, enter the new price and we'll provide conversions for every country and be done with it

Nintendo: Cool, do all that work yourself, select a date & time for each country, and all 5 regions will send you individual rejection emails next week

Watched the Exit 8 film last night, and it was really good. So many scenes were apparently taken in a single shot, and it was fascinating to watch for where the edits must have been.

But the story was also pretty good, and it didn't get too much into weird unnecessary backstory territory.

Congrats! Hope it pays really well!

Well my pink Gang Beasts shirt's treated me well, but it's decided to start falling apart after about a decade, so I'm gonna have to find something to replace it with soon!

On a positive note, I just came across the single greatest job application I've ever seen (and by this point you know I've seen a lot):
Four input fields: Name, Email address, Location, and Website. And a Submit Application button. That's it. So refreshing.

Some people have asked if I'm afraid employers will look me up and find me complaining about job posts and interviews over here, but I stopped using this name a long time ago. Finding a name I like has done wonders for my self esteem. Consider a change if you aren't a huge fan of the one you've got.

Just realized I sent my 1,000th job application of 2025 last week.

I want to burn this industry to the ground.

There is zero point in one-sided video interviews, unless you're screening candidates based on physical appearance.

The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion.

The entire bottom 50% of America is worth just $4.2 trillion.

Read that back.

When 400 people control more wealth than half a country’s population, we have a very serious problem.
