Sorry Peter, I value your channel, but they are awful. Authoritarian, arms-selling, genocide-supporting and so unpopular they're heading for total Tory-style defeat unless they implement PR voting (that their members already voted for). Let's just hope the Green Party wins rather than Reform.

Exactly! I've been in Italy for 24 years (although I've always worked in English), and I muddle along in Italian, but I can't even help my 11 year old with his grammar homework. Integration is really hard, and diversity is good.

I agree it's terrible, but in terms of getting 5 minutes of Starmer's attention, I feel like advocating for him to remove the 2 child benefit cap, which could save up to a million children from a life of poverty, might be more urgent. cpag.org.uk/policy-and-r...

Scrapping the two-child limit is the most cost-effective way to start to reduce child poverty. It would lift 300,000 children out of poverty and mean 700,000 children are in less deep poverty.

I just did, sorry I misread the word solution as being more a specific technical approach. I work at FAO so I think a LOT about food insecurity in Global South. Yes we need food systems that can feed all the people every day. Plus greater wealth equality so people can afford to buy the food.

I hadn't realised that cottagecore was now a food security strategy! Food systems do need to collectively feed everyone on the planet, but they also need to be context appropriate, so the idea that any one solution could be scalable globally is a bit ridiculous, as that would exclude most things.

Let's talk about why the people wrongly taken by Hamas are called hostages, and the THOUSANDS of people (many children) taken by Israel are called 'prisoners' by the media. And Hamas did not torture hostages, whereas Israel does...psychologically as in this clip, but also physically.

I think for us Europeans, this piece, by an American guy who's lived in the UK for a number of years, talking about the responses from Americans to his previous video, gives some insight into the depth of the problems the US faces. Like, total lack of critical thinking, or sense.

I also think that Zack is the perfect leader... he has all the kindness and collaborative spirit that I loved in Corbyn when I was a Labour member, but he's also media savvy and decisive. I think Corbyn and Sultana in a Polanski led cabinet would be ideal after the next GE.
