I am extremely proud to say, my new book, HOW TO SURVIVE A BEAR ATTACK, is published today.

A memoir, an investigation, nature writing, plus a dash of fiction, it's a blend because I started writing with a question -- if I'm attacked by a bear, will I survive?

I was just looking at the fascism checklist to see how far along we are — quite far, especially if you count the car as weaponry
My family can help with this -- see you soon!

We'll be closed all day Sunday November 2nd for our semi-annual inventory count. We'll be back open for our regular hours on the 3rd.

On a totally unrelated note, on Saturday November 1st, all books will be 10% off!

(Please buy everything in the store, that way we don't have to do inventory.)
I was just thinking the same in Toronto
I'm looking forward to this!

been reading a lot of medieval English history recently and it's instructive as to why the Anglo political tradition evolved away from monarchy. every 4th king or so would turn out to be a murderous lunatic, people got sick of it
it is kind of interesting how not only do they openly yearn for monarchy, but they also want a system of monarchy more absolute than almost any of the historical reference points where the president can tax, spend, declare war, even suspend habeas corpus at will
Johnson blames the No Kings protests. Says “it is quite ironic.” Johnson says “if President Trump was a king” the government would be open.
