All media mergers end up hurting writers, actors, directors, and everyone else who works in the industry. Executives, assistants, caterers, teamsters, everyone. Fewer companies means fewer jobs, period.

This is my superpower as well.
If I am watching TV with you I will always point out when someone is left-handed

I had a great time chatting with Cole about writing and my career and a bunch of stuff! Check it out if that sounds interesting!
The latest ep of the 5AM StoryTalk Podcast has dropped! @cincopaul.bsky.social conquered the animation world – including writing three ‘Despicable Me’ films – but he wanted more. This is how the ‘Schmigadoon!’ creator reinvented his career. A must-listen for screenwriters!

I loved Freaky Tales. Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck have created just pure unadulterated entertainment here. Was captivated from start to finish. Felt similar to my first watch of Repo Man way back in '84. Streaming on HBO Max now!

Congrats to Pluribus writer Ariel Levine on writing my favorite episode of the series so far, "Got Milk?" Was totally locked in and one part made me laugh out loud A LOT.

This movie has become a Paul family holiday tradition and is a must-watch because it is SO DELIGHTFULLY BAD. Highly recommend!!

RIP Tom Stoppard, a writer of incredible brilliance and wit. TRAVESTIES is one of my favorite plays of all time.

In honor of Rhino's new release of The Replacements' classic LET IT BE, here's my pretty cringe-y but relatively on-target review of the album in the Yale Daily News 41 years ago. Still one of my favorite albums. And of course the friend mentioned is none other than @chrissteller.bsky.social.

I LOVED The Baker's Wife at Classic Stage Company. What a sweet, beautiful show. See it if you get the chance!

If you're a writer who's cool with using AI to create art for your pitch (instead of hiring an actual artist), I guess you'd also be cool with the studio using AI to write the screenplay instead of hiring you?

Really enjoying Pluribus. Glad to see Vince Gilligan returning to his X-Files roots.

Very excited to see this (and Ari) next week!!
It’s hard to imagine a better production with a more stacked cast than the one of THE BAKER’S WIFE now onstage at CSC. In lesser hands it might be unbearably twee, but here it is lovingly staged and performed—a joy and a gem.

The Script That Got Me an Agent. Sharing this story because it might be helpful to someone. It was my USC master's thesis script and was called HEAD CASE. It was about an estranged son who returns home for his father's funeral, opens the casket and discovers his dad's head is missing. 1/6

Had two meetings cancel today and I'm convinced it's because they didn't have their costumes ready for tonight.
