Some recognition from Penny Dash around the gaps in knowledge at a senior level for CYP Mental Health.

Complexity is through the roof along with demand and expectation - fingers crossed for some radical rethinking!

One of the things I’m most proud of at work is that all of the Consultant posts we have are substantively filled. The difference it makes to CYP and families as well as the wider MDT is so clear. We need a long term plan for the C&A Psychiatric workforce…

Got very overexcited preparing for a care plan redesign sprint today.

Finding the tab set and contents page was almost too much excitement!

If anyone has any examples of digital CYP mental health care plan templates that can be created in an EPR they will be greatfully received!

Really important story in The Observer today about the hidden world of unregulated (illegal) placements for looked after children. Depressing to see they’ve been regularly reporting and nothing changes. Falls firmly into the “children deserve better” bucket.

One of my pet peeves - letters written about people’s care that the subject of the letter can’t understand.

Average reading age of 9 in England - if complex language is needed between professionals there should be a plain English explanation of what it means!
open.substack.com/pub/rorycell... My latest healthtech Substack post is about those annoying letters that are addressed to your GP but should be written for the patient
This charming gentleman has had enough of GP letters
Time for hospital doctors to write direct to patients
