it's easy to say "no one did it better" to eulogize someone, but with Tom Stoppard it may actually be true

the response to Dispatch means a full Baldur's Gate 3-style superhero rpg would absolutely clean up, huh?

Demonschool is a great recent example of this
i take frenzy damage every time i see someone go "well i just use it for the boring stuff". what are you TALKING about? if it's boring or unimportant, why are you putting it in? NPC dialogue is fertile ground for worldbuilding, creating verisimilitude, conveying important information, and hijinks!!
Buy a solo indie dev's game because I want to support them.

Find out it uses OpenAI to write "non-important NPC dialogue".

I would've listened to The Mighty Crabjoys in high school, too. I'm just like Superman, is what I'm saying.

We did something different with the credits for Demonschool. We used this format: name, title, lengthy description of what they did. Often you see credits in games where you don't know what the credited developer was actually responsible for. We wanted to give people proper, actual credit.

since we're all talking about it anyway, do you think it's possible to do a space opera in this day and age that's not somehow in dialogue with Star Wars (even if it's just a rejection of its ideas/aesthetics)?

maybe I should clean up and publish some of these solo RPGs I've been tinkering with. maybe that's a thing I should do.

Much like how AI art could be interesting if it leaned into its digital psychadelia instead of being sold as a way to Replace All Creative Labor (tm), I feel like VR could be interesting if it leaned into its strengths in generating presence instead of going down with the failure of the metaverse.

DOGE was created for data theft and infrastructure dismantling and it wildly succeeded on both counts within the first few weeks of its existence. It will take a generation to rebuild what it destroyed and the breach of data is unprecedented.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

probably one of the five best-written English-language movies of all time, and never out of style. if you haven't seen it, watch immediately. if you have, watch it again!

PRO TIP: Rian Johnson might not make a Muppet Knives Out, but there's nothing stopping one of you from constructing a Christie-style whodunnit featuring extremely familiar but non-copyright-infringing puppets.
