What’s most at risk is food, water, clean air, and safety (physical and psychological). And no politicians are meeting their global commitments. Canada’s budget should reflect the climate-related polycrisis. There is no prosperity without a livable planet. @mark-carney.bsky.social

Vital piece of investigative reporting from Sky. They've uncovered the X algorithm which feeds users extremist right wing material from the moment they join the site. It is a far-right radicalisation engine, by design.

I mask outdoors anytime the AQI is moderate or high, but I am the only one doing so. We have become triggered by the sight of a mask in our society that people can no longer consider reasonable preventative health behaviors.

The wildest thing about it is he’s claiming that there’s a lack of corruption from the cardiac surgeon who promoted (branded?) raspberry ketones for weight loss. Just wow.

This policy shift gave Canadian associations "an enhanced duty to protect EDI principles."

The Canadian north is on fire. Making it even more inevitable that can Inuit people along our Arctic coast will suffer the worst of this climate emergency, with rates of warming among the fastest in the world. We need to divest from fossil fuels. But when the AQI is high, we also need to #MaskUp

Russia invaded Ukraine. Media needs to frame it so it reflects facts and doesn’t minimize the invasion of a sovereign nation.

These Guardian headlines are so incongruent. We need politicians to seize their ability to take collective action. Or we need a sufficiently alarmed community-based response. #ClimateChange is the biggest risk we face - the rest is distraction.

I’m so shocked that judges don’t have to study #ModernTrauma deeply - to understand how traumatic memories are stored. They’re fragmented, based on emotions and sensation, and often not chronological. The fact a witness is inconsistent may mean she’s more traumatized. They need mandatory training.

This is why we need to be collecting more race based data in healthcare. Often what we find is quite condemning of the system. But if we don’t look for it, we can’t change things. The CMA is modifying its code of ethics to be more overly anti-racist, specifically addressing anti-Indigenous racism.
Race-based data collected in Manitoba's health-care systems suggests Indigenous, African and Black patients are waiting longer in Winnipeg emergency rooms and often leave without seeing a doctor.

We have only experienced the tip of the iceberg as to how Covid affects the human body long term. There hasn’t been enough time to see the causal links. We should be doing everything we can to prevent it - especially in kids.
My latest in @edmontonjournal.com . The Journal of the American Medical Association recently advised Long COVID in kids may have now surpassed asthma as the leading paediatric chronic illness.

Danielle Smith's response: start charging for and limiting vaccines.
