my sisters had to be 2nd-parents or helpers or examples or reliable fallbacks…none had the freedom to just be. my brother and I had to just “be men” (I failed, btw) but to just “be a lady” meant my sisters had to play 2nd to everyone else’s needs. pre-incel conditioning early.
I think we condition women and girls girls into becoming permanent secondary characters through this framing
