RIP Drew Struzan whose uncanny ability to filter movie magic into instantly iconic one-sheets made him as much a part of the filmmaking process as any actor, writer, technician, producer, or director. What a legend.

Another wonderful pickup from NYCC!

A fresh & unique take on the undead by @tatebrombal.bsky.social, Jacob Phillips & team that had me hook, line and sinker from the first page. I definitely wasn’t ready for some of those heavy emotional beats! Wow!

Great to meet you in person as well, Tate!

I read CEMETERY KIDS RUN RABID #2 last night.

I friggin' love this book. Love these characters. And I'm TERRIFIED of what #3 has in store for them.

So glad @oni-press.bsky.social brought this one back. @zacthompson.bsky.social and @danielirizarri.bsky.social are incredible.

I just read what seems to be a perfect first issue.

The Author Immortal begins in 1953 with what appears to be E.L. Vossler—the author of the 12-book YA series that began with The Mage’s Apprentice—committing suicide before a depiction of his daughter, Alethea. It’s a touching sequence.

The story…
The cover of The Author Immortal #1 shows Hector Ramirez in a suit (no tie) next to his daughter (who seems to be trans male and uses they/them pronouns) Alethea (goes by Al) in front of an open tome that is dripping with some black material. Between them is a knife with a feathered handle, like a quill. It’s the one author E.L. Vossler used to commit suicide early in the issue. Behind them is a gaping maw with white teeth. Art by Morgan Breem. Author E.L. Vossler touches a portrait (?) or depiction of his daughter, Alethea. He thinks, “This was about you. Forgive me, Alethea. Wherever your souls has gone, I hope you never forget my love.” Art by Morgan Breem, words by Frank J. Barbiere.
