We are living in historical times where revolutions and civil wars occur. It happens everytime the concentration of wealth and power reaches an extreme level like the present Build and protect your local communities, and prepare to fight for a new and better world.
In 1933 the oligarchs tried to overthrow FDR (Business Plot). This time around they started early, phony fiat currencies made it easier to create a fake dystopian economy and the manufactured "War on Terror" galvanized public support to accept a fascist police surveillance state.
At this point in the long cycle, when the concentration of wealth and power has reached a historical extreme, those at the top always try to overthrow the system to cement their dominance and control for eternity. Same place as 1920s/1930s, 1850s/1860s, late 1700s.

That was the primary goal - stealing the $500 billion in offshore gas reserves that belong to the Palestinians. Stealing the land was an added bonus.
