Of course, she's not that stupid. She knows that most people have a very poor understanding of events. Folk may be dimly aware that there was some cockup to do with the budget. The papers repeat Badenoch's words, and lo, it sounds like Reeves is incompetent. Disreputable, not stupid.
The OBR is run independently from Government. It literally was somebody else's fault.

You'd think Kemi Badenoch would know that given her own party created it in Government, but apparently not

For most of human history we had to rely on eyewitness testimony of events. There was a period of about 100 years, starting in the 1920s, when film evidence could also be used. We are now back to eyewitness testimony.

Curious who would pay 300 quid for a "navigational system" on a car rental, when Waze and Google Maps actually exist

The interview of Darren Jones by Nick Robinson was the worst kind of attempted gotcha 'journalism'. Dismal.

An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

A while back I paid upfront for cookery classes. Company then cancelled the class: they wanted to focus on corporate events. Asked for a refund several times, always fobbed off. Eventually charged back through credit card. Just got an email that they are being wound up by creditors. Not surprised.

I was really enthused by the idea of delivering the budget in print form without someone getting up and wanging on about fiscal envelopes for an hour. But then they did that anyway. Disappointing.

I would have just said "will rot your brain and render you incapable of critical thinking": I wouldn't have thought of the God thing. That's why the Pope gets the big bucks.
Pope Leo XIV told students not to use artificial intelligence for homework, saying that AI ‘won’t stand in authentic wonder before the beauty of God’s creation.’

I wish Chancellors would stop saying they're "asking people to make a contribution". Don't remember a voluntary check box on my tax return.
