📢 We need more accountability for the police force!
📢 And we need better protections for the right to protest in Germany!
The officer voluntarily walked into the crowd, and injured his own hand by repeatedly punching protesters in the head.

Police claims were echoed in the media, and by top politicians, incl Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt, calling for restrictions to the right to assembly.
This May, Berlin police claimed an officer was dragged into the crowd and severely injured by protesters at a Nakba Day assembly.

But our investigation reveals: That’s not what happened.
🚨 Our new investigation at Forensis/Forensic Architecture reveals Berlin police violence and misinformation.

We’re taking this moment as an opportunity to assess the situation: What are the shifts in technologies and where are they being put to use? What are the options for regulation at the international level? What role can civil society and governments play in this?
Right now, there is a chance to intervene: In mid-May, informal consultations on autonomous weapons will take place at the United Nations in New York. Germany, as a large weapons-exporting nation has an important stake in these talks.
🤖 Killing in the name of…? Developments in autonomous weapon systems are moving faster than a bullet, with current use cases in Ukraine, Isr/Gaza.
