I've had to come to the decision to aggressively avoid the news, current events, politics, etc. This is because I have come to realize, thanks to some close friends, that I cannot mentally handle it all. At the risk of sounding old-timey, it seems to be storming every time cloudflare is down. Should these service providers and data centers install lightning rods to prevent lightning from striking them and surrounding equipment? I don't think we've used those in decades, but might be worth looking at

A friend of mine pointed out I should only be looking at the "OnlyPosts" feed so I don't see all the irl stuff going on. I really don't know why I didn't think of that.

What the fuck, bluesky isn't letting me mute anything with "AI" in it. Good god. Okay. Fuck this website and fuck all social media. I'm getting to a point where if anything allows AI at all or doesn't let me block/avoid it I will just refuse to use it.

I know I said I'd stay away from irl/current events as much as possible, but this poor girl keeps popping up in my feed and I've been slowly watching her life being forcefully ruined by payment processors. Please go support her if you can.
So yes, this is a “beginning of the end” thing for me and simple stuff like, for example, having a bank account. Now is a good time to fight this issue and do so very publicly — it’s a matter of financial life or death for me
