Not headed to site for BizBaz this morning. I'm peopled out. It rained overnight and I don't feel like hauling crochet to that muddy, wet, dirty site.

I'm done being uncomfortable at MDRF for this season.

I already know I'll be around site one weekend in Sept next season. 😈

Suddenly there's a woman at my arm with questions about whether I was OK or not. Turns out her son, who was with her, and waved sheepishly at me, is also T1 so her diabetic-mom ears picked up what I said and she checked on me.

Super sweet of her. We are all family in the hellscape of diabetes.

Yesterday at aire I figured I would venture out and find food. I needed a hot meal and my blood sugar kept dipping so it was necessary b/c juice boxes were making me nauseated.

I was standing there staring at a menu when a friend walked by and I mentioned I was low.

The job doesn't fulfill ME. Braiding is not an art that is a passion of mine. Being fake nice, fake happy, a fake friend, dealing with impatient patrons, insufferable braiders, and chaos that stems from the top doesn't work for me.

I have unaddressed trauma regarding my safety and some booth events

FWIW - these are the rumors I've heard about why I'm leaving hair braiding:

- severe/ terminal illness
- fired via email

Neither is true. I've been VERY vocal that this would be my last season at hair braiding. The money is good but after nearly a decade there's nothing for me to gain/ learn there

Beyond the diabetes, that is, but my health is not why I'm leaving the braiding booth. I've been there almost a decade, patron behavior is getting worse, my tolerance for that behavior is getting less. I just don't want to do it anymore. ☮️✌️💙

Not taking pictures because I'm sure you're all familiar with chicken stew, I will say that adding sage and apple was a fantastic seasoning choice. I took some of the broth and made a gravy with it for easy pre-festival chicken gravy & biscuit breakfasts this weekend
