I had about 7 mins to eat this dessert before they kicked us off the table for the next sitting but it was delicious.
Highlight of my night tbh.

Burnt lemon meringue pie. Slice of pie is in shape of triangle and has thin, crispy layers of pastry between burnt meringue and lemon curd.

No we couldn’t! However both beds are mostly full. Tomorrow will top up the soil as it usually sinks overnight, then will pop on some pea straw and then plant the desperately needing to go into soil plants! 🌱

Two much depleted piles of soil and blue metal with a white polypropylene bag in between. The late afternoon sun is highlighted on the troughs and peaks of the piles

One of the wicking beds that have had 25cm of blue metal placed in the bottom of the bed. Then water has been added and the surface has been levelled.

The bed has now had a layer of geotextile fabric added to provide a barrier between the screenings and the soil. This helps to prevent the water reservoir from getting sour and becoming clogged with dirt and becoming pong whiffy!

One of the beds is nearly full. The soil should sink overnight and require a top up of extra soil (luckily we have quite a bit left!), then the pea straw and plants can go in
