Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it.

Happy Thursday Gaming evening for those that do that (like here, Commander Night at Home)

Took a mental day off today, I needed it.

I love all y'all!

I sent my partner a picture of my very full freezer.
Her: I am partly responsible for that overflow
Me: Baby, you are a stacked overflow in the best possible ways.
Her: T'é con (Dumbass)

The author of this Skeet may have taken some creative liberties while writing this.

Will always remind me of a post-mortem about a project at Ubi where the devs were so tightly packed that someone wrote "on est trop proche et le monde me tappe sur les nerds..."

In French, Cotton Candy is "Barbe à Papa" (Daddy's Beard).

This is a delightful linguistic landmine when you think about it.

In Quebec French, we say of such people that "Ils me tappent sur les nerfs" (The hit on my nerves).

Hey friends!

Less than 1 month to 3 years without booze!

One day at a time!

Had an amazing game of D&D last Friday. Used an immense battlemap on a 20+" Wacom drawing tablet. My players finished "Stage 1" of the campaign's first true BOSS Fight.

I just discovered accuradio & basically am listening to older R&B I grew up on.

The templating is a side effect of record companies realizing it's cheaper to push a dozen super stars than to have an ecosystem of musicians/singers/bands to support.

Now all pop music uses the same producer/writers.

Recognizing AI music slop on Spotify makes me realize how much we were conditioned to like crappy, templated music for ages. Starting to believe AI will succeed because consumers were progressively attuned to mediocrity for years.

It’s going to be tough to get all the cards without spending enough cheddar.

You know you're hungry when you're building a Magic the Gathering: Commander deck and you search for a card called "Dark Provolone" instead of "Dark Privilege".

I guess I'm building a "The Cheese Stands Alone" deck.

It's a Gouda-dea when you think about it especially for playing Swiss rounds.

To those attending Pax Unplugged: ENJOY YOURSELVES!

I'll be here, planning my D&D 2024 FInale! :)

My FLGS asked me to run a game for their store staff Holiday Party. They are 6 and I was wondering what non D&D game I could run easily for 6 players.

Then it dawned on me. That ONE game I've run for over what 12 years now?

@johnharper.bsky.social's Lady Blackbird.

ALWAYS a huge hit.

I used to be sold to Dell's XPS 13. I lost count of how many I got over the years.

Sadly, when the XPS 13 Plus came out, the previously lavish reviews for it tanked and I switched... For a M3 MacBook Pro.

That was 2 years ago.

Won't lie. I'm on vacation now and Pax Unplugged is right around the corner. Not going hurts. It's a political choice I'm making, I stand by it... But I WILL miss it and seeiong my buddies.

True story: when I wrote a series of "letters" about the discovery and use of DNA in the Abstergo Employee Manual, I made a direct reference to Dr. Franklin's work, hinting that my character (Dr. Rosenberg) had gotten her work leaked like it ahd been to the other two scientists.
Raise a glass for Rosalind Franklin tonight and honor her memory and scientific contributions

I just backed Apocalypse World: Burned Over on @kickstarter.com www.kickstarter.com/projects/lum...

I have been a PbtA fan from day one. The engine is so compatible with my gamer brain that it's become second nature to me to borrow from it when I run other games.

Cancelled this week D&D game. SAD (or the bipolar equivalent) makes it too hard to plan a game or think about hosting a game. Giving myself the space to recupertate. I know I'll get better. They understand. I'm blessed. Thanks guys!

Office colleague: Your English is perfect

Me: Thanks but I still struggle with words with 3 or more sylables... Well except sylables.

Me: Things like opportunity and unobtrusivness give me a hard time.

I blame that last word on @kevinkulp.bsky.social (YOU KNOW WHY!)

This panel was our way to say "we see you, we hear you" and like you say, dear friend ,"you are not alone".
And so if you feel like shit, and you know the logic is a mess, but you still feel like shit, know you are not alone.

I used to do a panel with @chattydm.bsky.social and others about mental health and gaming. We had professionals offer to be on the panel, but the goal was always just talking

This is something I struggle deeply with being both neurodivergent and an addict.
I heard this decades ago in a meeting and I still think about it all the time:

Discworld Marathon recap:
Back in December 2024, I gave myself a challenge, read all of Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels (some for the 3rd time, others for the 1st) in one year.

Why? Many reasons:

1) A pilgrimage through his body of work

2) An homage to his strentgh, breavery, and anger

Hey @amutepiggy.bsky.social how about we write a workplace comedy about LA based PTSD-treating therapists that need to moonlight as gogo dancers.

We'd call the show "Male Neurotic Dancers"
