If you are a fan of jazz and you’re coming to #NYC, look into #Dizzy’s #Jazz at #Lincoln Center. Fabulous music, great views of #CentralPark South and great seats no matter where you are. #Travel #Tourism #ILoveCities
Often, here in #NYC, there are similar cloud formations in the morning--the post prior--and early evening. The difference? The way the sun casts its magic over the city and the park.

File this one under "Life's Simple Pleasures." My oregano plant was on its last legs...I repotted it...and...voila...it's off and running again. I know, I know, "big deal!" But sometimes I have to take a time out and enjoy a nice moment.

#Trump is reprehensible. I left #Facebook with a group following of 25K for the reasons we know #algorithms #Zuckerberg etc, but like #FoxNews, #BlueSky preaches to the choir. Fox: Trump is the savior. BlueSky: Trump will destroy us. I feel no community here nor do I read any solutions for unity.
#LillianBassman was a magazine #art director and #fashion #photographer who achieved renown in the 1940s and ’50s with high-contrast, dreamy #portraits of sylphlike models. She was sought after for her portraits of slender, long-necked models advertising lingerie, fabric & cosmetics. #photo
A fabulous Sunday afternoon at #Smalls, a #jazz club in #NYC's #GreenwichVillage, which for generations has promoted #musicians; many who credit Smalls as their incubator & start to their careers. There were 2 legendary "nonagenarian" performers...on bass Bill Crow/97 and on drums Steve Little/90
Thinking of my #mother (right side) and her sisters on #MothersDay. I miss all of them. #1940s #photographs #Woodhaven #Queens #NYC #WWII
Wonderful. Where is this, Liza?
The #JohnSingerSargent exhibit at the #MetropolitanMuseumOfArt is stunning. Seen here is the once “scandalous” #painting of Madame X. Go early and during the week to get ahead of the big crowds. #NYC #Art #NativeAmerican #PortraitPainter #ILoveCities
Beautiful morning #walking through #CentralPark on the way to #Met. #Beethoven never visited the city but there is a wonderful statue. #NYC #Travel #ILoveCities #ClassicalMusic
I bet there are others, like me, who think, "This looks like an #EdwardHopper #painting." But it's not. It's a #photo of the Third Avenue Elevated Train, #NYC, ca. 1951, taken by #photographer #EstherBubley, who turned to color slide film to study the #ThirdAvenueEl, which was torn down in 1955.
#Photographer #BobGruen was up front at a #TinaTurner show. At the end of the show, a strobe light flashed & #Tina danced off of multiple images in the strobe light. Gruen had a few frames left. "I wonder what will happen if I take a one-second #photo & get a few of these flashes in the same frame?"
Best spot in #CentralPark? It may not be, but the #ConservatoryGarden, a formal garden near the northeastern corner of the park, is certainly one that attracts me.

The 6-acre, European-style garden has an abundance of flowers, beautiful fountains, paths and #ThreeDancingMaidens

I love #NYC #skybridges. The most famous in #NY is the #StapleStreetBridge, built in 1907. It's anchored just above the 2nd floor of two buildings. A hospital, looking to expand, created a thruway to connect the two buildings; patients could easily be taken from one to the other.

Heading back to #Paris in a few weeks. Can’t wait to visit some of my favorite #museums, particularly the #MuseeD'Orsay.

#Photographer #PeterLindbergh took this #photo of #TinaTurner hanging off the #EiffelTower Tina wrote to Peter, "I have often told you that it took me a long time to love myself." She added that he helped her with his amazing #photos #Paris #France
#ArtDeco is an architectural style from 1920-30s, when the onset of modernity was inspiring #NYC architects & builders. The #GEBuilding is a beautiful example. Its most recognizable feature is its rooftop, with blue & white spires shooting up to the sky like icicles or stalagmites. #travel #tourism
#LaurenBacall in her #NYC #Dakota apt.

“...the earthy, salty, sardonic and self-mocking woman, NY housewife & mother of 3, usually tossed an old sweater over her blouse and slacks when she went out to walk her dog.” S. Birmingham

She never shed her fiercely #NY personality
