My latest embroidery piece. A little love letter to our city & Joel Plaskett.
He was mature for his age 🤣
Is it reported publicly anywhere how much economic benefit is actually realised from golf courses? It's always the reason given, but do we ever actually see the economic impact after the fact?
A 1.1% margin of victory, I doubt his constituents will be too upset.
Although in these cases, I suggest it to trigger action on their part bc I know they don't want a call. Getting people to do what you want is also a skill, lol.
I think its just like you said, it's a skill, one that a lot of people either haven't learned or lost from lack of practice. Like Sarah, I often find it easier to talk things out with someone rather than explain via email. (cont'd)
That could be part of it. "Let's book a quick call" usually gets things resolved, when I make it clear I'm not going away. My team relies on this software to do 85% of their work, so when something isn't working I can't usually give up. They're just going to have to deal with me, lol.
I'm not sure. From my perspective, every exchange takes twice as long as it needs to & is usually solved when escalated to the case manager. I can't imagine their metrics are very good if that's the norm for all clients.
I refuse. I'm paid to think about things & then communicate the things I think about. Both are skills that only get better with practice. Why on earth would I delegate that to a machine that will at that same time do a worse job & prevent me from getting better?
I've been working with a tech vendor for a bit & the responses I get to their helpdesk requests are always initially condescending & frustrating. Like, yes, I've done the troubleshooting you recommended, did you not read the email? Just recently it's dawned in me that no, they did not, it's AI.
Fair enough. Also more likely able to go out on a weeknight. I'll keep that in mind.
Interesting! The target audience would be parents of elementary aged kids - millennials mostly and some older Gen Z, that could definitely work.
If you were to plan a school fundraiser trivia night at a bar, what theme(s) would you go with?

I sometimes use lentils for shepherds pie. Works well on it's own, but also good for bulking it up to stretch out smaller amounts of meat.
For the record, I promised not to share it with anyone. That it's out in the world is all on you.

Final version on the big night.

I really want the Jays to win in 6 just so they become the first team to win the World Series on Halloween and we get to enjoy a bunch of costumed fans in the pictures and replays for years to come.
This whole thing makes me livid, especially now that it appears she was focusing on higher end & e-bikes. I very much want to know how she got these.
