I think Jon Sumrall was distracted
Back to the comfy confines of 6-4 for Week 9. The USF and Mizzou losses were tough, but I should have known better about Kansas
Houston @ Arizona St.: Getting to this one late. Taking the Sun Devils.
Dakota Maker: Just revealed tonight that starting QB Chase Mason will be out for the Jackrabbits. So that’s an auto pick for the Bison. Sucks for that kid in the #1 vs. #2 rivalry FCS matchup.
Texas A&M @ LSU: Very nervous about the Death Valley factor, but I still just don’t trust LSU’s offense. They haven’t done nearly enough to talk me into taking them. Aggies escape.
San Diego St. @ Fresno St.: In a battle of good defenses I’ll go with the one I think is slightly better. That would be the Aztecs.
Illinois @ Washington: Huskies get it done in gross conditions having more of a QB run threat. Should be a fun highlight package to go with this one.
Mizzou @ Vandy: This is the hardest pick of the day pregame for me. I’ve settled on Mizzou. They don’t have the same offensive limitations that LSU has and I think that makes them a bit of a better matchup against the Dores. Tigers get it done late.
BYU @ Iowa State: I was going to pick Iowa State with this being such a let down spot for BYU, but that secondary is still in such a bad place injury wise. They’ve just won’t have the bodies. BYU moves to 8-0.
Do you even want to win @Kansas?
USF @ Memphis: Give me the Bulls. I’m still enamored by what they did to North Texas. I do think Memphis is better than North Texas, but when the Bulls get rolling they keep rolling.
Northwestern @ Nebraska: I’ve been impressed with what Northwestern has done, but I don’t think they have quite enough to pull this off on the road. They were circumstantially fortunate at Penn State and last week Purdue was hapless and they didn’t have to do anything. β€˜Skers eek it out.
Sunflower Showdown: Today is the day. Jayhawks end the streak. I think K-State will come in slightly overconfident and take some hits early on that they won’t be able to recover from.
I am not thrilled that we're one week away from being in double digit week numbers of the CFB season, but I am thrilled that I don't have any typos in the list this week. Here is Week 9. Buckle up! @jaredgray218.bsky.social

Ok, math has been checked. I limited this to FBS teams because otherwise good god the spreadsheet.

117/135 FBS programs that are not the Crimson Tide have a transitive win over Bama.

Here are the 18 that do not:
Bama's sole loss to Florida State has, so far, given 118 college football teams a transitive win over the Crimson Tide
5-5 in Week 8 and normally I’d complain, but I started 0-4 so I’ll gladly take it. I thought Nebraska was more ready for primetime, though πŸ‘€
Holy War: Finally ending the home team trend. I believe this game is a not a crazy one, but still a β€œdifferent beast” situation for the Cougs. The Ute OLine propels them to victory if Dampier keeps it clean.
USC @ Notre Dame: Nasty weather = Irish
TSIO: The Vol defense is scaring me too much to believe they get this done tonight. I’m sure Heupel has some eye candy drawn up, but the Tide pull it out late and add to their 20+ year home winning streak in this series
Ole Miss @ Georgia: Continuing the theme of home teams. They will be revenge minded and I think Sanford will have some juice. The Revs will do some pretty stuff early then bog down late
UNLV @ Boise St. I’m liking what Mullen has been doing so far. I think they’re too big of a dawg with this line. BUT the spread being this big makes me have to take the Broncos on the Smurf turf close. They still see themselves as kings of the MWC.
ODU @ JMU: I truly think this one could go either way, but I’ll take the Dukes at home.
Gross goal to go sequence by the Gamecocks
Georgia Tech @ Duke: The Bees are one of my darlings like everyone else, but… they’re losing today. This is mostly a vibes thing. Duke will jump out of the gate with more energy and hold on to a lead.
Central Michigan @ Bowling Green: This is a classic letdown spot for the Falcons after beating Toledo last week, but they stay focused and get the W today. Also their offensive performance was very pedestrian last week. Should be better today.
