My home office here in Seattle, specifically the Fremont neighborhood.

As silly as it may seem, I try to add a little bit of joy, whimsy, and warmth to work and home 🦋
I do it constantly and feel no guilt!

(even though I'm a huge softy and feel so guilty about everything else in life 🙃)

I didn't know them 5 minutes before they made their nasty comment, so why should I care how my "blocking" them might hurt their feelings?
Thank you SO much for helping to keep the market a vibrant, thriving, living part of the city! I don't want it to become a 'tourist trap' and having people like you shop there for every day life, will help stop that from happening. That means the world to me - thank you! 🍎
4) the dairy shop doesn't take debit or credit cards - bring cash. But she'll let you write that one check you keep tucked in your wallet (something I don't do anymore, but I used to 10 years ago...)
Once you know them - they will hook you up with the best new tunes they know of (granted, I lived there from 2015 - 2017, so they were burning CD's for me, and I'd get a couple new ones each week - not sure how this transaction would happen today - but they would...)
They will start to especially pay attention. (I love red currants, and they only have about a two week 'season' but once 'the guys' know, they'll remember)
3b) the produce dudes know the most current music - they're not 'bored' but they listen to music ALL day
And they will keep a couple pints of your favorites in the cooler for you - just slip whoever hands it to you a $5 tip every once in a while - you don't have to do it every week, but once they know you care
To the game on the radio.

That is the BEST time, b/c that's when it becomes a community, and everyone talks about the game, even if you're not a super sports fan.

3) the produce guys:
3a) they will learn what you like and save stuff for you - I live on berries for lunch in the summer
The first two years I lived in Seattle, I lived at Harbor Steps and did pretty much ALL my grocery shopping at Pike Place.

1) go early during the summer months before the tourist wake up
2) on game days (partly b/c there's no tourist) the market is dead, but all the vendors are listening
Always love your videos/work.

This one, though - the biting humor underlined with the silliness in the first 2/3rds - brilliant!

I'm so glad we have you to add joy and to help 'lighten the load a little bit' because it's been kinda heavy lately! TY 🎶🎵
I've seen this sign at a few protests/events the last nine months, and honestly - I love it!

There are other wickedly funny, poignant, and profound signs that I see, and love...

But the reason this one is my favorite is that it reflects how life should be if we were just living in normal times...
Good morning! The first cardinal, do you know if that was a female, or a juvenile?

Also, loved how chatty the wren was! 🐦
By stacking the courts at multiple levels, don't they make sure it takes a long time before the break happens?

I know that comes across as both a statement and a question, but it really is a question.
Why isn't there a way for me to hit "like" five more times! 😁
From the 2018 Fremont neighborhood, Seattle, WA solstice parade.

There is a "naked bike ride" every year, but since it happens during the day, & this is open to all, most folks have body paint.

I volunteer at the Seattle Aquarium, and nudibranches are one of my favs - so I loved this rider 🐠 🙂
Is the first pic in your post of a church in Iceland?

I'm sure there are probably other small, black churches in the world, but I'm guessing it's the one I'm thinking of.

It was January when I was there. It was covered in snow, and there was no one else around - but I think it's the same place.
Great video - bad puns always enjoyed 🦔
In the sub, they do say "thousands" which is probably correct since I think OR has a pop~4M.

But I agree that the lede totally buries the real story. We won't know attendance until after, but still:

"A large contingent, potentially in the hundreds of thousands, expected..."

Is more concise 🙂
I'm really looking forward to this event this Sunday. Ten miles, on mostly flat surfaces, through cool neighborhoods - although people can come in & out of the route if that's too much.

Might be a touch of rain this weekend, but both Sat. & Sun. are shaping up to be good days for "community." 🙂

To this day - still my favorite "cartoon" from the WSJ. Not that they haven't had amazing journalist over the years, but the idea that these four situations and incomes represent average American workers and retirees still kinda blows my mind...
Yay! I love our weather, except it's doesn't snow enough for me ❄️😁
