They're using the confinement box, one of the most horrific methods of CIA torture in the post-9/11 black sites, against migrants now. This is the direct result of the lack of consequences for the architects of the torture program. Either there will be criminal penalties for this or it will expand.

This is also how I feel about it. We aren't living through a moment where we can depend on any accountability mechanisms that may have ever existed in the first place (which they may not have tbh)
i'll be honest i find the epstien stuff similar to the "constitutional crisis" stuff. like, it just seems rooted in the wrong idea that there are actual mechanisms of accountability that will just automatically kick into effect if certain facts "come to light"
