North American Indian Costumes (1564-1950) was published by Szwedzicki in France in 1952. Born in 1915 in Oklahoma, Oscar Howe (Mazuha Hokshina) attended art school, painted murals in WPA projects, served in World War II and became a major influence of contemporary artwork in native communities.
