John Mark (assuming you mean Comer) infuriates me because of his rabid anti-LGBT stuff. I *really* want to use and recommend his stuff, but the fact that he explicitly linked his anti-LGBT sentiment to his notion of apprenticeship sours him for me.

A linguistic quirk to which I am more sensitive these days is how few people at coffee shops ever say “whole milk” which feels much more intuitive for me to use compared to the dominant term, “regular milk”

It’s the standard for my own Baptist denomination, as well. It’s also my default translation. It’s the translation I think of when I think of “Bible.”

Sometimes the prose is convoluted and wonky and it literally gives me a headache because of that. It’s a faithful translation, but that doesn’t mean it’s a readable one.
