The official Bluesky account for Congressman André Carson of Indiana's 7th District. Fighting for you.
Muhammad Ali was a fighter in the boxing ring and in civil rights — an advocate for Muslim-Americans and a pioneer for justice. His impact is still felt today, which is why I introduced a bill honoring him with a Congressional Gold Medal. Happy Birthday, Muhammad Ali!

Visas allow people to come the US to work and contribute to society. President Trump is now making it harder for people to legally enter by suspending immigrant visas, despite the essential role immigrants play in strengthening our country.

The Trump administration cut healthcare for millions of Americans.

This is what they're paying for instead.

Yesterday, my office hosted a seminar to help you navigate this tax season. Weren't able to make it? You can find information — including updates to tax code and IRS resources and tips — at carson.house.gov/taxprep.

Indianapolis received millions of dollars for the Safe Streets and Roads for All program thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. We know how important infrastructure investments are.

In President Trump's first year, the cost of living kept climbing and was one of the worst years for job growth since the pandemic. Working families deserve better.

Democrats are working to lower energy costs for families, but the Trump administration has reversed many of these policies, causing Hoosiers to pay 16% more than the national average on their electric bill.

Best of luck to the IU football team at the Peach Bowl tonight!

BREAKING: The House just passed bipartisan legislation to extend Affordable Care Act tax credits and slow skyrocketing health care costs. This is what happens when we work together.

Political violence is never the answer. Today marks 15 years since the horrific attack on Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords that killed six innocent people. As a target of political violence myself, I proudly support the resolution honoring the survivors and lives lost on this day in 2011 in Tucson.

Protesting is not a crime. It should never get you killed.

I’m a former member of law enforcement & have been in dangerous situations. The ICE agent who shot a demonstrator in Minnesota was not justified.

The House is expected to vote this week to restore ACA tax credits. All Members of Congress need to do the right thing for the American people.

5 years ago today, violent insurrectionists attacked the U.S. Capitol to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power. Political violence has no place in this country. Thank you to the brave police officers who put their lives on the line to protect and serve our country.

Sending prayers to my Hoosier colleague Congressman Baird and his wife Danise after a car accident. I’m glad to hear they are stable and wish them both a full recovery.
January 6, 2026 at 4:51 PM
We are just a few days into the new year, and health care costs have skyrocketed because Republicans let ACA tax credits expire on January 1.

Trump’s move in Venezuela is a dangerous misuse of taxpayer dollars and an intolerable abuse of power. Only Congress has the power to declare war.

How can Trump pay for the forced removal of another country’s president—but can’t pay for children’s healthcare in his own country?

Kwanzaa is a time many people around the world celebrate their ancestors and acknowledge the African American values of unity, self-determination, collective responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith.

The president has ended protected status of Ethiopians, Haitians, and Somalis and will deport thousands — including children who grew up in the US. Many will be forced to return to countries still experiencing armed conflict and instability. This decision puts lives at risk.

UPDATE: We now have enough signatures to vote on extending Affordable Care Act tax credits and lower health care costs. Health care should be a human right, not a financial burden.

Speaker Johnson must bring this legislation to the floor for a vote NOW.

Today I asked the FAA Administrator about DOGE’s short-sighted cuts to grant funding for aviation projects, including upgrades for the solar farm at the Indianapolis Airport. This grant should not have been terminated and I've urged the Administrator to review and restore this funding.

These violent threats from my colleague in the House of Representatives are vile and dangerous, and we all have a responsibility to call it out.

A sitting Member of Congress openly endorsing violence against millions of American Muslims is wrong.

As families around the world pause to celebrate Hanukkah, we remember those hurt by the deadly attack at Bondi Beach and reaffirm our commitment to fighting antisemitism. May the light outshine the darkness. Happy Hanukkah.

My thoughts are with the victims and families impacted by the deadly attack at Bondi Beach as members of the Jewish community gathered to observe Hanukkah. No one should fear coming together to celebrate their faith.
