cahdoria🚨STOP using ChatGPT for therapy. Why? Because multiple independent studies already show that LLMs (including ChatGPT!) are designed to be agreeable, non-confrontational, and emotion-mirroring, meaning they often tell you what you WANT to hear, not what you NEED to hear.
That is the opposite of what real therapists do. Real therapists challenge you. They support your growth. They make a treatment plan!!!Ok, Catharina, but why are LLMs so agreeable?
Because of financial incentives. 🤑 The longer you keep talking to chatbots, the more DATA you generate and the more PROFIT the platform makes! Put simply: your mental health becomes secondary to engagement metrics, and MONEY! 💸Also, major health organizations like the UK National Health Service (NHS) and the American Psychological Association (APA) have already warned that generative AI can give inaccurate, biased, or unsafe health advice, and that chatbots are not safe substitutes for real mental-health support.⚠️So yes, using them like therapists can do far more HARM than GOOD!
