I recently bought a TV series with English subtitles from a guy online and then discovered it was clearly AI generated translations. AI translation doesn't maintain the spirit of the original work well at all. Human translators matter.

You and I must have very different definitions of the word "good"! It's weird as hell. you never know what's coming next or why, and there's cats there. They've got their own strange little culture! That's all I need 😂

Books can do so many things visual media can't and should absolutely always take advantage of that. If it could be easily translated into a movie/show, why write a book about it? (I feel the same about animation. If it could easily be live action, you're not having enough fun with the medium!)

Tell me your most unhinged literary opinion, as a little treat

The mutually exclusive concept of “trick-or-treat” is very confusing for dogs who often work in the tricks business and get paid exclusively in treats.

Hellloooo internet! I sincerely need 1 more beta reader who hasn't read The Audacity to read just the first ~9,000 words of "Aliens in New Florida" (you can read more, but the rest is fine apparently) and tell me your thoughts and opinions.

It's weird post-apocalyptic Florida sapphic alien romance.

Dr. Jane Goodall filmed an interview with Netflix in March 2025 that she understood would only be released after her death.

Part of me wants to write a scene at the end of my book where the characters hang out and have a laugh just to show the book was fiction and they're just acting. No one got hurt, really! They're all pals in real life. Everyone consented and signed a contract.

Xan is an alien cinnamon roll with a deep passion for “I Love Lucy”, languages, and of course May.

It’s a commentary on the absurd nature of life clearly

I was so freaking grumpy this morning and then I held the door for someone at the cafe I went to and I tipped 25% and now I feel like the world is good again 😂

Me, who is once again obsessing over Red Dwarf which first aired in 1988: “Wow I can’t believe people are still into Our Flag Means Death” 🫠

Are there any indie/self pub writers out there who have published literary fiction? My most recent favorite reads have been Remarkably Bright Creatures and Piranesi so I think I’m in my literary era 😅 Post what you’ve got!

I don’t really have any genre affiliations, I usually read literary fiction and non-fiction actually, but if it’s funny I’m very in!

I think this is a common thing among smut peddlers. Every re-read reduces the thrill 😅 Also, reading for copywriting and clarity is about as sexy as a cold shower

This is not supporting my statement that this show is oddly deep 😂

I don’t think I read that one! Is it just called red dwarf?
