Well, we hit the 5” mark in Eastham and went a bit over. I just emptied out the gauge so we can measure what is yet to come. #mawx Spotter #21-241 @wx1box.bsky.social @capecodweather.net
A rain-spattered plastic rain gauge on a wooden deck, the base stuck between the deck planks. The gauge’s background is dark blue, the lettering is white. There is lightly over 5” of accumulated rain in the gauge.

Definite short-term improvement. Out here it’s more of a long-term thing so need a few good ones or spell of + departures over several months. I’m sure you’ve seen how low some of the ponds are

Now we’re up to about 2.70” in my Eastham rain gauge. Windy and drizzling aggressively. Spotter #21-241 #mawx @wx1box.bsky.social @capecodweather.net

Everybody should call in sick. Shut the air down. Hell, shut the met offices down.

Folks -- this is for our healthcare. It's all we got. Short term pains lead to long term gains.

The FAA is delaying flights at Newark and Denver airports because they haven’t got enough air traffic control. Burbank has zero ATC from 4.30-10pm.

Lots of controllers who aren’t being paid during the government shutdown are calling in sick.

Oregon National Guard Adjutant General, General Gronewold says if they are federalized, that he will advise the Title 10 commander to utilize National Guard Troops to PROTECT protesters at ICE facilities. This is the right answer.

Soaking rain coming up tomorrow. Good news is we need the rain. Bad news is it kills the October warmth...much cooler air moves in behind it.

If you say Dems should negotiate with Trump, please confirm you've read the pre-shutdown Trump EO that authorizes you and yours to be probed as terrorists if you commit any thought-crime listed on the right-hand side of this Ken Klippenstein report excerpt.

*That* is who you want to negotiate with.

Nice shot of (Cat 4) Hurricane Humberto...several hundred miles northeast of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. No threat to land at the moment...could pass near Bermuda during the early to middle part of next week.
