Where do academic librarians get industry news?

The survey results from a quick survey I did last year with the support of @chashub.bsky.social are here: www.charleston-hub.com/2025/07/wher...

To librarians who have thoughts in support of or opposition to what I found, would love to hear more!

Thrilled to be shortlisted for the @ipghq.bsky.social awards in 2 categories - Academic and Professional Publisher of the Year & the DEI Award.

Judges highlighted, “Sage isn’t just paying lip service to DEI – it's taking an inside-out approach and making it integral to its output and culture.”
We all know that the National Academies don't wade into politics (say what you want - that is a good thing).

But it's refreshing to see Marcia McNutt acknowledge that the current political environment makes science vulnerable and share what they are doing about it.

As a social science advocate, this is devastating - Minerva has been an exemplar for other agencies wanting to write effective policy for years.

As a human and a mother who wants the world to be a safer place, this is terrifying.
NEW: The Minerva Research Initiative, established by the Pentagon to fund social science relevant to national security, is being gutted. Dozens of researchers studying threats from extremist groups, misinformation or climate change have received notices that their grants are being terminated.

I have been talking to the media, Time, Fortune, NBC, etc., to explain how the onslaught on science and NIH will impact the health of all Americans. Everyone knows someone who has cancer, heart disease, or depression. Spread the word about how cutting science impacts all.
