Real bad shit ahead for our trans friends.

Wanna be an ally? Help them stockpile HRT meds including DIY-HRT. Support their decisions, especially those that keep them lowkey safe, medicated, supported on the front lines, or chillin at the rear away from the crazies.

Politico is reporting Trump will name Dr. Ladapo of Florida to a senior spot, likely Surgeon General or Assistant HHS.

This would be a horrifying pick for trans people. He's responsible for Florida's adult trans ban, and works with SEGM/Anti-trans global movement.

He's also an ardent anti-vaxxer.

Dems gonna do their level best to learn absolutely nothing and lose yet again.

NEW: Maine Democrat Dan Kleban suspends his Senate campaign & endorses Janet Mills the same day she launches her campaign.

Also comes as the DSCC files a joint fundraising committee with Mills.

Consolidation happening around Mills, who would be 79 if elected to the 6-year-term.
Dan Kleban Suspends Senate Campaign,
Endorses Gov. Mills for Senate

“I Got Into This Race for the Same Reason I Started Maine Beer Company—to ‘Do What’s Right’”

“Governor Mills is the Right Leader for this Moment and is in the Best Position to Win”
Cumberland, ME — Dan Kleban, founder of Maine Beer Company and U.S. Senate candidate, released the following statement today:

“Today, I am suspending my campaign for U.S. Senate and enthusiastically endorsing Governor Janet Mills.

“Right now, our country is at a crossroads. Susan Collins is not doing what’s right for the state of Maine, and hardworking Mainers are literally paying the price—housing, health care, groceries, and electric bills are all too high and getting worse. I believe Governor Mills will win next year and put Mainers first by addressing these pressing issues.

“I got into this race for the same reason I started Maine Beer Company—to ‘Do What’s Right.’ That motto has guided me in business and is why we paid a living wage from Day One, cover 100% of health care costs and provide retirement benefits for our full-time employees, and share our success with the community. We’ve taken action on climate and environmental sustainability, giving 1% of our sales to nonprofits addressing climate change, promoting conservation, and integrating clean energy practices into our business. People thought we were crazy, but we proved we could build a company that’s a force for good.

“These core values also guided me in this campaign. I entered this race because I believe Washington needs more leaders who put people before politics and who will fight every day to make life better for Maine families. While our message was right, the timing isn’t. Governor Mills is the right leader for this moment and is in the best position to win.

“I’m not a politician. I’m a guy who loves his family and was blessed to start a business in the state that gave me so much. This isn’t the end of my fight. Maine has given me so much, an…

Yep. Dem party hasen’t learned a goddamn thing.

Christ you don’t read well. I said “long term L.”

You ever heard the phrase “win the battle lose the war?”
callmepancakes.bsky.social
You’re interpreting what I’m saying in terms I’m not using. No where do I say it’s worthless. It’s just an L. A loss. We learn a lot in losses, more than wins arguably.

I dunno why ppl understand this w sports teams but not history. You lose? Good effort to everyone but identify and adapt. Simple.
callmepancakes.bsky.social
I get that. But also it just reminds me of people who say “why did hamas attack oct 9th, they should have peacefully protested”, when in fact they had repeatedly done that for years, each time losing more people.

I guess historically no one broadly agrees it’s “time for violence”.
callmepancakes.bsky.social
Respect for all the elders who did what they had to in the way they thought best.

Also you can valiantly struggle and die and it can still be a long term L. That’s on the fascists, and just how shit goes.

But recognizing an L is the first step to not repeating it.
callmepancakes.bsky.social
They’re about to undo birthright citizenship, the literal specific provision the confederacy had to agree to to be allowed back into the United States union. Something that took a civil war to achieve.

That’s literally the south rising again. I’m saying things are on an inevitable path to violence.
callmepancakes.bsky.social
Was it really a great success if it took 70+ years to win, and 40 years to pull down their monuments, and then almost all progress completely regressed 10 years later?

No. It wasn’t a great success. That old shit won’t save us especially w far more aggressive fascists running things this time.
callmepancakes.bsky.social
To be clear: optics won’t sway hogs who were cool with deportations. Economics of it may, at best.

Even once swayed, my point is that fascism doesn’t leave without an inevitable physical fight. There will be state violence, made up pretense or real so stop policing ppls militance.
callmepancakes.bsky.social
You realize during and after Jim Crow (late 1800s to mid 1960s) was not a great 70+ years of black folks right? Jfc.
callmepancakes.bsky.social
I’m saying electoralism is cooked. It was already hardly fair system but gerrymandering and troops in blue cities who will depress turnout.

Did I say give up? No. Will I still vote? Yes of course dumbass.

Also useful methods to resist are criminalized so I’m not gonna fed post to suggest them.
callmepancakes.bsky.social
This position fails to understand our current moment by failing to understand historical fascism.

Critically: fascism arrives democratically, but it remains in power thru use of force, coercion, and legal shenanigans. Optics cease to matter bc fair elections are over.
aubreygilleran.bsky.social
But Samantha literally isn't saying that. She's saying the point is to further delegitimize the regime by goading them into overreacting to peaceful protesters. Images of them brutalizing a priest, a grandma, a person in a frog costume, etc., is bad imagery for them.
callmepancakes.bsky.social
What if I told you they aren’t stupid and know the truth but say something different because it’s politically advantageous?!???? *gasp*
rincewind.run
a foundational belief of the modern right is that there is no such thing as organic disagreement with their policies, it’s all directed from the top down

they just can’t conceive that ordinary people find them horrifying

Sean Duffy: "The No Kings protest, Maria, really frustrating. This is part of antifa, paid protesters. It begs the question who's funding it."

Money is absolutely on the majority of Americans being docile creatures that love the taste of boot.
callmepancakes.bsky.social
Fact: kidnappees on their way to unknown concentration camps absolutely HATE seeing protestors w tired legs as their vans pull out unabated. Good job y’all.

Current view outside the Broadview, around 50 or so people with lawn chairs, yoga mats sitting a listening to speeches from Jane Goodall.
callmepancakes.bsky.social
There’s always a motive to these mens’ quasi intellectualism, and that motive is diddlin.
callmepancakes.bsky.social
Also, don’t do this because the majority of other protestors around you won’t hesitate to happily partner up with police and feds to turn your dumbass in.
callmepancakes.bsky.social
This shit is embarrassing and deeply unserious jfc.

Also, yo, boogers????!!! Come on.
callmepancakes.bsky.social
What kinda planes y’all into? What’s that look like in practice?

Are you just looking up info and that’s the extent, or does it parlay into activities? Like building models, or gaming, or like an 8hr transatlantic 767 flight in MS Flight Sim?

Also they have DHS goons fastroping out of them on some Nightstalkers cosplay, apparently.

I’m a big military aircraft guy. Also maps are totally my thing. Definitely how my own AuDHD shows up.

Genuinely tho I was just saying military aircraft are a lot easier to ID. Blackhawks are loud as hell by comparison to any typical police helicopter bc the latter have noise restrictions.
callmepancakes.bsky.social
A Blackhawk looks/sounds nothing like a civilian life flight helicopter, but fair.

If you’re the type of person whose autism doesn’t manifest in a deep interest in identifying helicopters, definitely don’t do what you definitely already shouldn’t do.
