Digital painting of Necro hugging Effie, both Street Fighter III characters.
Necro is a tall, pale, muscular and bald man with weirdly long arms and nose. He wears purple pants with suspenders and boots, no shirt. He has spiral red tattoos on his face and shoulders. He wears a metal collar too.
Effie is a small pale woman. She is similarly pale. Her hair is blonde with two ponytails. She wears a red collar and heavy dark make up.
The hug between the 2 is framed so it looks like they are restrained inside a box. Necro takes most of the frame, surrounding Effie and covering her in his shadow.
On top of the picture, in bold white letters, it reads "Fully Rendered Character Commissions" Digital painting of a devil woman smoking in what appears to be hell. She is a greenish gray color and apears to be naked, but she doesn't have nipples or genitals. She has makings on her skin instead. The devil has big thick horns. Some cloth is bandaged around her head, covering much of her face. She wears some jewlery on top of her forehead and chest. The cigar she holds produces a funky purple smoke that creates round shapes as it goes up. Past her there's a vaguely hellish background with some figures in suggestive poses.

There's text on top of the image. It reads the following.
Starting price: 125 USD per character.
NSFW, fetish art, gore, mechas and furry art are welcomed! Digital painting depicting Elena sitting on top of Akuma's shoulders. Both are Street Fighter 6 characters.
Elena is a fit, very tall and lean young woman with white medium length hair. She wears a white top that covers only her breasts, hoop earrings, golden bracelets and white pants.
Akuma is a very short, very muscular and extraordinarily wrinkled old man with red eyes. His white beard and hair are past overgrown, but there's the attempt to wrap both in a bun. He seems to be wearing a variety of animal pelts and a collar made out of big black balls.
Elena sits on top of Akuma's shoulders with both hands on his back and legs wrapped around his head. She smiles at an off screen sunset while Akuma faces away, pretending to not be interested but giving the sun a side look.
Behind Elena's head there's a glowing halo like the ones seen in religious depictions of christian characters who have achieved divinity.

The text on top of the image reads "Requests via the VGen link in my bio"

Specifically about this topic on bodies being unique, I feel like representations tend to homogenize everyone into idealized eurocentric body types. Starting over and studying from the primary source is a way to break away from a colonized view. But this might be more relevant to me as a Brazilian.

A professional can help you notice things and develop your eye. And they will have an easier time showing that to you with the real thing.
calligiovanini.bsky.social
I just disagree. We are talking about learning anatomy. Both are important, but observational skills are a must, and you can only develop them by experiencing a body. Even if it's your own body. Touching yourself. Looking at yourself. Tridimensionally understanding your material limits.

totally
blessed be the internet
but sometimes I have the urge to buy the physical thing and have it by my side when I'm working
(it's too pricey)
calligiovanini.bsky.social
It's so hard. Like, I've tried sneaking into anatomy classes, corpse museums, research groups and whatnot but it's always a hassle
(and as you said often super pricey)
calligiovanini.bsky.social
I mean, sure, but taken how artists don't participate in anatomy classes with actual corpses anymore, I feel there's an over reliance on depictions of depictions of depictions in the current state of things. The primary source for art is still real life.
Or as the kids say, grass.

A good friend recommended an atlas with photos instead of illustrations and I absolutely love it. I feel that we artists should try to learn from the primary source, not from artistic depictions (if you can stomach it, of course).

I'm not a big fan of the "I want shorter games with worse graphics" meme because it doesn't really address any of the issues.

COVID got hands, Diesel 😭
but I'm gonna try

The bad stuff on the internet is just stuff that comes with living in a society. The internet is much more akin to a mirror than people want to admit.

It's been a while since I last posted a timelapse video.
This commission was very much in my comfort zone. I just made the sketch blue and started painting the shiniest muscles I'm capable of painting at the moment.
I've been making a lot of blue art lately.

LEAVE THE BOXES AND START ROTATING THOSE HIPS

you know those rotating boxes you draw for practice? well think of each one as a booty cheek. you’re welcome

The one very basic thing I wish people would teach beginner artists more often is that perspective is not a thing you apply only to drawing buildings. You can apply it to all your "character in white background" art and it's gonna make the drawing very cool, no matter how boring the pose is.
