October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

This month, and always, we stand with survivors and against domestic violence.

Today, the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners issued a proclamation recognizing October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Super heartbreaking. Indeed any org should recognize signs of stress and intervene. One of the departments we donated a dog to, the handler was clueless when the dog had enough of the public (a fest with 50k people) so I pulled the dog until we could teach the handler to read body language.

The Dog Daddy is not a good trainer. He's what we call a "yank & crank" or "gag & drag" trainer.

I personally never met a purely aversive trainer but there's probably sicko's out there that hate dogs and call themselves trainers. I prefer the balanced approach. You do what's best for the dog and I've rarely met a dog that didn't want to please.
