An exciting opportunity for postdocs here at Notre Dame. I would excited to mentor anyone outstanding candidate in temperate or tropical forest ecology. Pass along to folks looking for a position in 2026!

ℹ️🛰️ Canadian Agricultural Science from Space 🍁🧪

How does Canada's #RADARSAT Constellation of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites support Canadian agricultural monitoring?

Check out the video we did in 2019 that explains it all ⤵️

“Results show that for every reported professional benefit that scientists once gained from Twitter, scientists can now gain that benefit more effectively on Bluesky than on Twitter.”

Boom. Mic drop.
#LinkedIn is also the land of "I'm so excited to share..." 😆
bsky.app/profile/joce...
I would agree with this, but I also think that Bluesky is better than spending all of our time congratulating each other on LinkedIn, which seems to be the only alternative these days
#LinkedIn, or the land of, "I'm happy to announce..." 😹

This 👇. I'm also missing #ScienceTwitter and I can't figure how to get my #ScienceSky 🧪 -tagged skeets into the official Science Sky feed. 🤷‍♂️ For a while, #LinkedIn felt like it was the successor to Twitter, but it's probably not. 😿
I feel like Bluesky still lacks *something* that Science Twitter had. Yes, Twitter sucks now, but Bluesky is a pretty anemic replacement. Maybe it's less engagement or cross-talk, but it still feels very hollow here.
I used to have whole conversations on Sci. Twitter, but that doesn't happen here.

Hey everybody! @drjuliawester.bsky.social and I have a new paper!

We surveyed over 800 scientists, science communicators, and science educators who use social media.

Conclusion: Scientists no longer find Twitter useful or pleasant, and many have switched to Bluesky! 🧪🌎🦑

The new "I Know What You Did Last Summer" has me thinking about how they messed up the name of the 1998 sequel. 🤦‍♂️

Alternatively, it could have been "I Still Know What You Did the *Previous* Summer." 🤷‍♂️
[I love #Google and all but] I was #TodayOld when I realized that I [and my coworkers] should have been doing knowledge management using #GitHub repos instead of Google sites and Google Docs. Years lost... Oh well... 🤷‍♂️
