Wow
Imagine escaping the literal Nazis, making it to America, living three quarters of a century there making your life, and then this:
79-year-old Paul Bojerski was born to Polish parents in a WWII German refugee camp. His family legally emigrated to the U.S. when he was 5.

He’s been taken by ICE in Florida.

I paid $20 for Amazon to gift wrap five items, and they stuck them all in one bag. Wtf? There's no way to contact a human and complain, and the chat bot keeps running me in circles. Not happy. It's a good thing the gifts were all for the same person.

Truth!

It's also DEI when most red states get more money from the government than they pay in. Whereas blue states, by and large, foot the bill.

OK, seriously? Haircuts? Wtf?
We reported on this a few days ago, but I want to point out this headline because this is where we are at.

A bill in Arkansas would ban gender affirming HAIRCUTS for transgender youth.

HAIRCUTS.

This is a straight up North Korea state sanctioned hairstyle proposed law for youth.
GOP bill could ban hairdressers from giving gender-nonconforming haircuts to minors - LGBTQ Nation
The bill would allow anyone to sue someone who affirms a young person's transition, and it specifically mentions hairstyles.

And now my kitchen faucet is leaking. I would just like things to stop breaking, please.

I hate February. My water heater is leaking. Again. I can't even believe it. My son doesn't know if it's in a place that can be repaired, I don't see how we can afford to replace it. Fuck.

So, my insurance agent looked over my homeowners policy and couldn't find a way to cover the boiler. She said to check if there's a warranty. I don't think there is. But it's only from 2018, so maybe? IDK. I guess I have to figure out where to get $6k before everything goes up in price.

People are going to die. But hey, the price of eggs, right? Oh wait, they're up.
NEW: My staff has confirmed reports that Medicaid portals are down in all 50 states following last night's federal funding freeze. This is a blatant attempt to rip away health care from millions of Americans overnight and will get people killed.

So how’s it going so far?
January 25, 2025 at 7:41 PM
Well, even with the repair yesterday, the broken furnace was leaking too badly to run. We just shut it off completely. For now, we're heating with space heaters. I put a claim in to my insurance to see if they'll pay to replace the boiler. Cross your fingers. I don't have $6000.

Surprise, MAGAts!
The price of eggs in the US is spiking, mostly due to #H5N1 bird flu. Solving the problem requires urgent, important communications from the CDC & FDA* and rapid development of research by the NIH**

Egg prices are soaring again. Here’s why and what to expect
Bird flu has killed millions of hens in recent weeks, shrinking the supply of eggs and hiking up prices at grocery stores.

The total of the furnace repair is going to be $6000. That I do not have. I have no idea what to do now.
January 23, 2025 at 11:07 PM
O. M. G. It was $650 to fix the thing in the furnace that burnt out, plus put a new valve on one of the radiators. But the furnace itself is cracked and leaking. So it's going to be another $5000 - $9000 that I do not in any way have. At least they can reuse today's part. FML

Waiting for the repair guy to come look at the heating system. Is the smell coming from the furnace? The radiators? Both? Ugh. Heat is currently off. Also, it's 22°F outside right now. We're heating the whole house with 3 space heaters. Lol
January 23, 2025 at 6:19 PM
My dining room radiator has been leaking, but now there's a burning smell coming from it. We shut off the heat, & I have to call the oil company later. Did not need this in a month where we have property taxes, a quarterly water bill, yearly car insurance, & Amazon Prime to pay. Right after x-mas.

It's -1°F in my town right now. I hate winter.
