The writing for the Ed Gein season of this anthology is trash, and I just want Netflix to bring Mind Hunter back.

…for prostate cancer. He’s on hormone therapy because he has prostate cancer, which affects your hormones. You get hormone therapy if you get ovarian cancer, as well.

Education Department has eliminated the special ed office in shutdown layoffs, union says. The agency cut nearly everyone who works to administer federal funding for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.

Gentle reminder: I am seeing more "I cannot afford pet food" posts & if you might face this in the near future/now, I recommend checking your local area's subreddit and posting if anyone knows of local programs for pet food. Many areas have small under-the-radar charities that give out pet food.

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

Dear #LoveIsBlind editors,

We actually don’t need to see the parts where they’re having phone (wall?) sex. Let these people have some private horny time.

I’ve lived in rural areas with a baked potato spot and in urban areas with baked potato spots. I think you might be overlooking something.

Many of us grew up in the church being taught to root for Moses, Daniel, and John the Baptist in the Bible, only to grow up and have our churches question our faith for not cheering on the Pharaohs, Nebuchadnezzars, and Herods in our world today.

I like how the news will be like “while the President claiming Portland was ruled by a giant skeleton named Mr Nibbles is not strictly true, it does speak to the anxiety of many Americans”
busybibliophile.bsky.social
In fairness, I don’t even know what that is.

Also, I don’t think Stephen Miller has ever met a bunch of real rednecks.

His slip of the tongue reveals who’s really in charge. trib.al/mIvP0yE

“Illinois governor says we’re provoking actions that are unlawful,” Miller said on CNN. “If I put federal law enforcement and National Guard into a nice sleepy Southern town, is anyone gonna riot?”

It might just be the way we’ve been going over author’s word choice in class, but something about saying “Israeli families” and then just “people of Gaza” instead of “Israeli and Palestinian families” is bothering me, but I can’t articulate what it is because “people of Gaza” isn’t wrong or bad.

It was illegal to “harbor” Jewish people in the 1940s in Germany, too, or to obstruct the Gestapo.

The video in the comments from Ann Coulter saying it to his face that she would never vote for him because of his race is wild.

I like dinosaurs, so I have dinosaur decorations in my home. I also have a cat painted to look like Frieda Kahlo. 😂

18. How do you show whimsy as an adult?
busybibliophile.bsky.social
Finding my grandpa’s gun in his glove compartment when he ran into the store and left me in the car alone, and then a couple months later seeing my grandma reach for the glove compartment while fighting with him and knowing that’s what she was reaching for.

11. What was the first event that disproved your childhood belief that the world is a safe place?
busybibliophile.bsky.social
Literally any book by Lois Duncan. I devoured her entire oeuvre between 7th and 8th grade.
