Podcast cover for Episode #11 of 'Future Knowledge' titled 'After Disruption.' The design features portraits of speakers Trevor Owens and Shannon Mattern. Surrounding them are collage-style retro-futuristic elements, including a classical statue head, a vintage computer with the word "NEW" on its screen, a modernist observation tower, and abstract architectural shapes. The title uses bold, blocky typography, giving the cover a vintage sci-fi aesthetic.

🐹 Before viral videos on TikTok or YouTube, there was Hampsterdance.

Full of dancing hamster GIFs & a sped-up tune, it became one of the internet’s first viral hits.

You can still dance to it on the #WaybackMachine ➡️ web.archive.org/web/19991222...

PEN America warns of rise in books 'systematically removed from school libraries'

List of banned books:

Below, Decameron. Banned in Australia from 1927 to 1936 and from 1938 to 1973.

#bookban #libraries
Decameron. Preceded by: Girolamo Squarzafico: Life of Boccaccio. - Printed in Venice: by Giovanni & Gregorio de Gregorii brothers, MCCCCLXXXXII on June XX. - 144 c.; [*]⁶-1, a⁸, b-y⁶, z⁴; fol. - Typographical mark in the explicit.

At the top center, an intricate architectural frame encloses a scene depicting ten elegantly dressed figures—seven women and three men—seated in a lush garden under an arched trellis, representing the storytellers of The Decameron. Each figure is identified by name, including Pampinea, Fiammetta, and Filostrato, among others. The scene reflects the book’s central motif of storytelling as a refuge from hardship.

The borders are adorned with classical motifs—cherubs, vines, masks, and nude figures symbolizing vitality and art. Below the text block, a frieze portrays playful mythological creatures and dancing figures, while a typographical printer’s mark appears at the bottom center, signifying the craftsmanship of the de Gregorii brothers.
