radical left lunatic. when tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty (but we stay silly though.) the misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed– the bitterness of those who fear the way of human progress.
Riding the Amtrak Acela back to Boston from Philly, and I am such an irredeemable nerd that I had to bite the inside of my cheek to keep from quipping to the ticket checker about being with them, "all the way to the end of the line."

I do genuinely love Unplugged, and regard it as the superlative PAX experience.

I might start traveling with a wrench so I can remove the flow restrictors from hotel showers.

yes yes we all know about the Edmund Fitzgerald, rest her soul, but did you know about the ship laden with explosives that sank in the mouth of the Thames in 1944 and could explode at any minute and which attempts to disarm keep failing

DJT is so earnestly offended that a member of the United States press would dare to ask Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman about having had Jamal Khashoggi murdered and dismembered, it's so unbelievably aristocracy-coded, how was this man ever elected as a populist?

There is an irony that this morning's Cloudflare outage was so pervasive that it temporarily took out Downdetector. Really loving the decentralized internet, with its obvious chokepoints of failure like AWS & Cloudflare; seems like it's working great for absolutely everybody.

We simply must stop saying "they caved for no reason". I do not and will not accept that framing; this was no mere capitulation– it was an act of deliberate collusion, a betrayal. They caved so that they could fly home for Thanksgiving without delays. They caved to demonstrate that they always will.

I am breathing through it, I am trying not to be a doomer. But if Chuck Schumer is still the Minority Leader when the January 30th deadline arrives, we are quite simply cooked.

Democrats were overwhelmingly united on their shutdown demands.

Americans understood that Trump and Republicans were to blame.

Voters made it known last Tuesday that they'll elect leaders who stand up to Trump.

Democrats held the cards — and folded for no reason.

Chuck Schumer is not fit to lead the Democratic Senate Minority. Dick Durbin as whip will also have to go. This was complicity, and a change is categorically required.

This was a betrayal. I am incandescent with rage at the terrible moves of the political party that claims to be in opposition in the USA. Why are they even allowed to make that claim? Why does a howling mob not come burn down their houses, with torches & pitchforks, to run them out of power forever?

Good things are possible, and we don't have to settle. Yet you choose to, because you are craven, and accustomed to your clout. Primary every Democrat who capitulates to this deal.

Dear people who tune targeted marketing algorithms: yes, I did buy a couch in calendar year 2025. Which– means I no longer am seeking one! Stop sending me ads for your specialty brand sofas; I am merely one person, with a fairly small apartment.

We simply do not have to work with people who hate and want to extinguish us. And insisting that we must, that in fact it's the only path forward, is so counter-productive that it does most of the work of convincing me we don't share the same goals to begin with.

The Trump administration are actually required by law to keep paying for SNAP. And the judiciary agree, in federal court. And they might just not do it, because nothing matters anymore. I am so very angry and sad.

Due respect to the design team at the Pandemonium Institute; I haven't seen any of the new stuff, I've no idea what's coming. But the decision not to re-classify the Sentinel as a Loric character (as they did with e.g. the Gardener) is a little mystifying, at first blush.

My life may be accurately prognosticated by whether Brewster offers me pigeon milk for my coffee on my daily visit to The Roost. I always accept it, of course. But the days are simply better, when he doesn't.
