One more scenario update for tonight -- the Ravens losing is, once again, good for every team trying to scramble for a playoff slot.

The Titans Miracle Scenario continues unabated!
November 28, 2025 at 4:47 AM
With Cincinnati's win, both the Bengals AND Browns remain alive in the AFC North.
November 28, 2025 at 4:45 AM
Updated AFC elimination scenarios after the Chiefs' loss -- a good result for everyone still scrapping for spots.

Perhaps most notably, the Jets now need the Bills AND Jags to win to get knocked out this week.
November 28, 2025 at 1:11 AM
The Chiefs' loss means the Bengals will stay alive for at least the #5 seed this week.

Anything else will depend on what they do tonight.

Your updated NFC playoff picture.

(Note that the Saints have also been eliminated from specifically the top wildcard seed; forgot to mark that last time I updated this!)

Your updated scenarios after Lions-Packers!

Most notably, the Vikings are now knocked out of the NFC North with a loss.
November 27, 2025 at 9:19 PM
With the Packers' win, the Washington Commanders are eliminated from the #2 seed.

A hell of a Thanksgiving slate this year. A very impactful Packers-Lions division game to start; the Chiefs and Cowboys clinging to playoff relevance in the middle, and the return of Joe Burrow in the evening.

Nevermind that this leaves Sunday bare, we'll enjoy the feast.

One last one for the week. Because the Dolphins kept crawling their way up into some of these weird scenarios, let's just go ahead and put them through. Mike McDaniel keeps his job, why not!
November 26, 2025 at 8:45 PM
The Bengals, by contrast, are boring. Blah blah blah Joe Burrow is back win a bunch of games blah blah blah.

(Technically, this scenario isn't winning out, because I think CLE d. PIT is more likely than CIN d. BUF, but that's basically all this is. BAL/PIT split, BAL loses to GB, etc.)
November 26, 2025 at 8:28 PM
Here's a fun one -- the Browns getting through due to Strength of Victory from playing in a tough AFC North.

This has the Browns winning out, of course; that's a gimmie. But that ~also~ includes Buffalo losing to them in Week 16! Normally, that's great for H2H, but not in a multi-way tie. But...

Switching back to the NFC, welcome to hopelessness, Vikings! Or, alternatively: ~the Max Brosmer era begins in earnest~
November 26, 2025 at 8:21 PM
Part of the reason the Titans are so hard to get in is because, at a max seven wins, you kind of have to let the Chargers go through and instead hit BUF or KC.

Not a problem for the Jets, who can still get EIGHT wins and then breeze past the Chargers!

Most of the other "what do you MEAN they aren't eliminated yet?" teams are significantly less convoluted. Take the Saints, for instance -- their best chance is to just catch Tampa Bay.

Easiest path -- beat everyone, have TB lose all but one of their games.

One of the most common questions I got earlier this week was "what do you MEAN the Titans aren't eliminated yet?"

Well, I present to you -- the easiest path for the 7-10 Titans to get blown out in the wildcard round!

Tonight's MNF game is Cats versus People Who Want Your Gold.

If San Francisco wins, the 49ers and Buccaneers remain in playoff position.

If Carolina wins, the Panthers and Lions enter playoff position.

Now, if that's not a natural rivalry, I don't know what is.

This will be Olson's third stint as Raiders offensive coordinator, which feels like it has to be some kind of record.

2013-14 under Dennis Allen, 2018-21 under Jon Gruden, and now again in 2025 under Pete Carroll.
Raiders QBs coach Greg Olson is being named interim OC to replace Chip Kelly, per source.
