The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

@larand.one hey Larry, can I ask how you imported your blog to Pika? I just paid for a pro account and want to move some things over but it looks like it’s either a manual process or reach out to the team?

@me@mszpro.com

I just realized I paid for a pro subscription for an app that’s no longer on the App Store. I had Sora downloaded on my phone and paid for lifetime. Is it no longer supported?

I’ve slowly been building out a new website under my own name. As part of that, I’m filling in some details about trips I’ve taken over the last couple of years. Here’s a post about the second leg of my trip to Italy last year covering the Dolomites and some dual citizenship tidbits: Dolomites

I need a new hobby like I need a sharp stick in the eye, but I’ve always wanted to learn how to paint. Maybe in another season of life.

Coining the term QUIMBYism right now and releasing it to the urbanists free of charge. Quality urbanism in my backyard, friends. The middle path between Karens and bootlickers.

This is every industry now. Professionals are just gatekeeping because everyone is an expert on everything.
I'm always impressed by just how many people who've never maintained any open source software are so wonderfully generous with their advice about how to do it correctly

I was looking at getting a Remarkable Paper Pro but the friction to read books is just too much. I’m not a big Amazon fan, but using Kindle Scribe Colorsoft with Libby would be amazing, especially for reading graphic novels with my son.

Having been deep in the Apple ecosystem for almost 15 years, I’ve rarely found Samsung or Google products appealing. But I stopped by a big-box store today and tried out some of their tablets and phones. I was impressed. For the first time, much of Apple’s lineup feels stale in comparison.
