New wheel day. Industry Nine 1/1 GRCX with Gravelking SS 40mm tan walls. Hands hurt from trying to get the tires on, and broke a tire lever as well. Cassette installation was also a challenge for some reason. Done though, and hoping for a first ride next weekend. #bikesky

RSUs already cut way back at my employer, with more cuts coming. Meanwhile my employer just sued a former senior exec, asking for the return of $6mm in vested stock. Sick of this BS. I'm starting to look.

Eagerly awaiting my new Industry Nine 1/1 GRCX wheelset. Just got rim tape, brake rotors and a 3/8" torque wrench for the install. Lighter weight Gravelking SS 40mm tires and a higher engagement hub should help a bit on the climbs. #bikesky

1/2 Thank you to the driver who let me zipper merge on Friday afternoon on Wightman from Beacon toward Hobart. The bike lane just disappears mid-bock and merges into the main traffic lane. I climbed, signaled, looked left, saw the driver back off, and merged. (more)

Pet peeve. Leaf blowers creating leaf piles in the bike lanes plus blowing mold spores everywhere. No idea what's in or under the leaves that I'll hit or slide on, plus elevating my allergies like crazy.

Back in 2008, my oldest got to vote for the first time. I always got to our precinct and was voter 1, 2, or 3. He was determined to beat me to the polls.

1/2 Rode past Bobby BuzzHarsher on the trail today. Came up behind him on a narrow section of sidewalk in a construction area, slowed to walking speed, and calmly announced my passing on his left. With no response and seeing earbuds, I announced again. He snarled back "yeah, I heard you". #bikesky

Bummed that Trek Shadyside announced they're shutting down effective 12/13. I have two Trek bikes and the folks at that shop have really helped me out. I hope their staff can find a way to land on their feet.
