Where is my mind?

Way out in the water. See it swimming.
If you're looking for something of Robert Duvall's to watch... may I recommend Lonesome Dove?

(That's gonna be streaming someplace, right?)

Watch to appreciate the absolute brilliance of Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones and Danny Glover and try to forget that Rick Schroeder is a MAGA dipshit.

The worst part of the All-Star game has been the constant stream of "Look! This is actually good competitive basketball" comments from Reggie Miller.

(Which just goes to prove my underlying theory: Reggie Miller makes everything worse.)

The German curling uniforms would seem better suited to a hard more hardcore sport.

Alligator wrestling or something.

I use Claude pretty much every day for work.

I don't use it to generate 'content' - I mostly use it to query and then organize customer account data in ways that would be inconvenient or time-consuming to deal with otherwise.

It's pretty good at stuff like that - except when it's not.
Experiments conducted with the A.I. system Claude are producing fascinating results—and raising questions about the nature of selfhood. Gideon Lewis-Kraus reports from inside the company that designed it, Anthropic. newyorkermag.visitlink.me/rOfXjg

This reads more than a little bit like an early chapter of The Stand.

Nothing to worry about I’m sure.

I will not support any funding deal that puts money in the hands of Stephen Miller, Kristi Noem, and this violent agency. Defund and abolish ICE now.

Look - if you live in the United States in the Year of Our Lord 2026 and you don't speak ANY Spanish, that's on you.

I visited the Dominican Republic a couple of years ago. I thought I'd be able to get by with the basic words/phrases you pick up just living in New York.

Nope.

I was embarrassed.

The fact that Bad Bunny's halftime show made white bigots angry and feel excluded is A GOOD THING. It's one of the best things about it. It's not a problem to solve. It's a solution to pursue. Bigots *should* feel excluded. We should find *more* ways to celebrate the reality of USian diversity.

My dog got lost earlier this year.

We spent the entire night looking for her.

Erroneous reports from people with Ring cameras had us looking in the wrong area for hours.

First half (wind to our backs): "Oh, this isn't so bad. Much better than yesterday!"

Second half: "I WANT TO DIE."
