youβ€˜ve tried seasonal allergies, you’ve tried colds, but have you considered trying seasonal allergies and a cold AT THE SAME TIME?

Reminder if you are not sapphic do not say sloppy toppy
every one of these quotes has the em dashes of insecurity lol
Personally I think the president should be subject to far more legal constraints. He shouldn’t be able to order killings on the high seas or abductions on city streets or the demolition of public buildings.

So if this shit polarizes Americans against presidential power, Iβ€˜ll take it lol
It’s the visceral symbolism, though: turns out even β€œthe peopleβ€˜s house” was just a myth;

legally, presidents can do whatever they want with the property, and this truth had merely been cloaked by the voluntary exercise of what conservatives approvingly call sovereign grace.
Oh it was on Catsimatidis’s radio station lol

Two days after Cats publicly told him to drop out
Yeah this drives me mad. i looked at it closely back then and I could tell what was up. Architects were also saying this on social media. But the Times somehow couldn’t be bothered?
there are people at the times who could have covered the story properly from day 1. but they aren’t members of the political stenography crew.
thank you Chris.

And the rest of the press should feel terribly embarrassed. Any architect could have told reporters the day the drawings were released that this project replaces the east wing. It was obvious! but since it contradicted Trump’s ignorant rambling, it apparently couldn’t be printed
Also more than 3/4 of the states have already enacted this reform for their own executive. Some as early as the 1840s, some quite recently. It shouldnβ€˜t be hard to pass with supermajorities because it’s just so damn familiar.
There’s no foolproof solution but this one puts a stake in the heart of the unitary executive theory. Once you have separately elected department heads, no one person can claim to have a popular mandate over the entire executive branch
signing off with β€œcheersβ€œ is the only fun part of writing an email

no podboy will take that away from me
It’s a massive expansion! Costing about the same as the amount he’s taking from DOJ, and paid for by private interests expecting who knows what in return.

Neither of these things are scandals, however, so long as the prez, and DC (and the GOP) generally, choose not to be scandalized by them.

"Getting an education for the sake of learning something you're interested in is a scam if it doesn't immediately result in a lucrative job" is what's killing the Humanities, and really, most of society.
is there any data to back up the idea that students aren’t told this? it’s not been my experience at all.
Theyre not, the White House is, by law, exempt from all that.
that’s right
People who say Ilhan Omar can't be forgiven because they milked a bear are the same people who simp for these folks.

Scandal, but not illegal. Federal laws generally exempt construction at the White House from oversight.

Obama wouldn't have done this bc of norms, he and his staffs' sense of ethics, and perhaps fear of public criticism. Freed from those restraints, a president is bound only by the law.
i was wrong, unfortunately, the myriad federal laws regulating this sort of thing do not apply to the White House, so it's probably not illegal, only unethical.

a system of laws? more like a system of "what's the worst that could happen?" clauses exempting the president-king from oversight
oh and it turns out this project is probably not actually illegal, just unethical!

because, of course, the laws everyone else has to follow whenever they build anything specifically exempt the White House
