I say that being molded into something where I don't agree with some things that are about, negatively affected my mental health, 100%. There are a lot of things I agree with here, but not everything. Can I not live through major historical events please?

I should honestly get myself out of it but it's very difficult to avoid. It's important, but I'm not equipped to deal with this shit. I'd be angry and upset every day if I was so involved. It's just too hard for me to manage.

Thinking about it more, the emphasis on ideological purity has not done well for my OCD. I sometimes worry getting cancelled and losing friends if I step out of line even mildly. As a response, I became contrarian and performative to the point of self-parody. Not publicly, but it's there.
