“Strike at the roots, not the branches.” At the intersection of people, data and politics. Using data to know them, love them, and work it better. Trouble. But good trouble. “Kooyongkoot”, Wurundjeri Land. (Hawthorn, Victoria, Australia.)

She had a latte art portrait last week!

A little abstract but delicious nonetheless.

Must sleep now. Early morning drive to rural Victoria for a planning day for state campaigns, and Sundae is going to stay over at her Uncle Mark’s.
You’re very kind 😇

Lovely to see you last night
Been a bit stretched lately. Haven’t been posting much there either.

More likely to find me organising inside @communityindeps.bsky.social (five events this week 😅)
That’s sudden and unexpected
Making YOU jump out of your skin?? Must be significant.

What’s going on?
Talked about your strengths, and abilities, and unique ways of piecing together info

Net approval ratings are probably a better indication of “happiness” with a government.

A dislike of one of the two majors might indicate a preference to the other, but it doesn’t necessarily equate to approval or happiness with that option.

We are seeing very high LNP disapprovals currently.
Creeks and rivers? We are old suburbs built well above very old flood lines. If our creeks and rivers are ingressing into houses, then Flinders Street and Southbank would be flooding too.

Drains? No. It’s because of big infrastructure works www.melbournewater.com.au/services/pro...

Given she lives in Hawthorn too!
I pop in from time to time because all my favourites are here, but not as active right now. (Lots happening in the real world and sadly not stretching as far as I’d like.)
She was offered her jumper and refused.

Let’s see how you feel about it when you’re there overnight in “feels like -3°C”
More yellow today, as I took Sundae on a Ballarat road trip!

(I think she liked the puddle more than the umbrellas.)
A local florist borrowed Sundae for a photo shoot today
It’d be much nicer if they were fixing housing shortages
There’s nothing productive about building the same home twice after bushfires or floods destroyed it.

There’s nothing productive about it taking more effort to grow the same foods and fibres in harsher environments.

Inaction benefits so few, harms so many.
The National Climate Risk Assessment is yet to be released to the public.

“Australians should see the truth of the climate risks we face before the government locks in a 2035 emissions reduction target." - David Pocock

You can read the full release here: australiainstitute.org.au/post/climate...
Idk how they expect babies to read this…
Already 3.5 years old. Nearly 4. Will be a few weeks off 5 at the time of the next one.
😂

I wonder if we can get her to 18 to get on the electoral rolls
Co-founded by the same people, alongside the Liberal Party.

The names behind the IPA are recognisable today: Murdoch, Coles, and the head of BHP to name a few.
. @marcmaron.bsky.social on hack jokes, punching down, and cultural consequences.

Perhaps yes it is the 80’s, with a lot of this shit driven by nostalgic boomers.
WATCH: “Are you f*cking out of your mind?”

@marcmaron won’t let @howiemandel downplay the impact comedians like Joe Rogan have had on stripping rights from trans people, immigrants, etc. with “hack” bullying jokes that helped pave the way for Trump & the radical right takeover.
