I went with a train themed Christmas this year. Even decked out the little fake Christmas tree I’ve had ever since I worked at Starbucks in college (I was supposed to throw it away after the holidays).

And yes, I love the holiday season idc

Social housing is not a pipe dream, it’s the only solution to this housing crisis unless we want to use public funds to heavily subsidize current construction.

Good morning! Oakland is 100% on the HRC LGBTQ scorecard this year thanks to new policies passed (humblebrag) and the opening of the Town Youth Club.

We did get docked one point since the city no longer has an LGBTQ Liaison in the Mayor’s office, but overall we exceeded our work and got 100%!

New polling just dropped and when voters hear my message, I’m tied for first among Dem candidates.

I’m the only candidate putting everyday Californians first. That’s why I support a billionaire’s tax to:

California is still in a major housing crisis, with rents still shooting up especially in SF where Wiener is State Senator.

That aside, Wiener will never win the housing debate when he has done nothing but defend the decimation of Gaza from scrutiny. What about their housing? There’s none left.

Caltrans is spending $318M to remove toll gates, meanwhile BART was forced to spend $90M to add slow fare gates

I look forward to a day when MTC prioritizes transit rider experience over payment collection like they do for drivers

Richmond-San Rafael Bridge toll booths slated for removal
The project is the first in a $318 million program to transition all seven state-owned bridges in the Bay Area to open-road tolling.

Energy transitions can happen faster than we think:

In 2000 almost 90% of Denmark's electricity was from fossil fuels.

In 2024 less than 10% of Danish electricity was from fossil fuels.

The FBI’s Oakland corruption case relies heavily on the word of one man with a "checkered past."

When we closely examined Mario Juarez's long history of legal disputes and criminal investigations into his businesses, patterns started to emerge.

The FBI’s Oakland corruption case relies heavily on the word of one man with a ‘checkered past’
For decades, Juarez has been at the center of bitter legal disputes — and the subject of criminal investigations — all while maintaining high-level political connections.

Idk why people think I would support someone for Congress who has been on the wrong side of the Israel-Palestine issue for decades and has actively worked to silence anti-genocide protestors on behalf of a country committing genocide.

TBF this project was really the work of former Supervisor Sandra Lee Fewer. She fought a lot of NIMBYs to get it approved and was trying to get other projects like it done in D1.

SB-35 is good though. I think we can all agreed affordable housing should be streamlined.
This is rich. Connie Chan says she “built real affordable housing, not the Sacramento version that destroys our neighborhoods.”

She points to new affordable housing on Geary: housing that she didn’t build but that *was* built using “Sacramento version” housing laws & $52M in state funds. 🧵

Apparently a new bond is being considered. The CEO of @cahsra.bsky.social is HUSTLING!
California High Speed Rail is supported by 62% of Californians, which is more than the 52% of us who voted for Prop 1A in 2008. That being said, what’s stopping us from running another bond measure for the project? We still need to fund the tunnels to LA and the Bay from the Valley.

Bay Area transit just had one of its most politically successful legislative sessions in part because of @transbaycoalition.bsky.social & our leadership in the pro-transit community.

But there is still a lot of work ahead - so come party it up & help raise funds to strengthen transit advocacy.
