This morning in the #bookbinding studio I'm making a large, lay-flat Leather #Sketchbook in glossy pewter grey with coral exposed spine stitching.

I made one for a customer last week and have enough leather to restock it for my online shop.

We're so excited to welcome our new cohort of History of the Book students! In Week 1, they will delve into artists' books, bookbinding, and textual scholarship

#historyofthebook #bookhistory
IDK who needs to hear this, but #artists and #makers with a #Shopify store who see a gazillion views from 'Iowa, Council Bluffs' plus a bazillion 'add to carts', don't get excited. It's Google. I mean, do get excited: your store is being indexed. Go you! But don't expect sales.
Things I have lost between my studio's floorboards:
- my original wedding ring
- approx. 60 size 16 #bookbinding needles
- one Japanese screw punch drill bit, size 1mm
Telling it like it is: support sandwiches and waiting sausages.
In Swedish, a word for what you eat to bridge the gap between meals (or while waiting for the main course to cook) is stödmacka. It means "support sandwich."

A similar word in Norwegian is ventepølse, or "waiting sausage."

Standing Still #35

A feeling of Paris in Glasgow.
Wow, it's beautiful. A Very Good first attempt, I'd say! (Love William Morris.)
Busy in the studio working on commissions for guest books and sketchbooks, plus answering enquiries. I LOVE the ideas you guys come up with for your books! Bring. It. On.
Thank you. :-) Simplicity is my watchword and conveniently makes for such good design, doesn't it!
