Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

Posting this new piece again. Mostly because I'm impressed I managed to get it done well before Christmas itself!

I agree that we should not judge Farage solely on the racist things he said when he was a kid. We should also judge him on the racist things he has done with the entire rest of his life.

Reposts always very much appreciated as well. Thanks everyone.
It's been a difficult year for artists and I am no different.

I'm in a position where I still have spaces to fill before the end of the year so I'm offering 10% off my commissions until the end of the year.

A small selection of covers from this year.

I don't want to start rounding up 2025 too early, but I might start sharing a few summary posts.

Also, as is the way most years, a lot of my 2025 covers have been completed but have not yet been unveiled.

Really useful article on the rise of the manosphere and the impact it can have.

Part 2 of their series has some actions that people and organisations can take to help combat the problem.

There is #NoExcuse for online abuse.

The fickle turn of fortune. I've sent a couple of spec illustrations off this year. Very happy to say I've just had an acceptance for one of them...

...on the same day the other one is being un-accepted due to the publisher falling apart.

The new SLEEP ALONE cover was inspired by one of my favorite movies, Green Room. I love what Alan did here. The show poster style with all those creases and tears, the club stamps on the back…so many great details. I’m very aware how lucky I am to get two covers I absolutely love 🤩
Cover reveal time for @jawmccarthy.bsky.social's SLEEP ALONE!

This edition features a new bonus story in both the print and ebook. Available everywhere books are sold on March 17th!

Today the news will be about the government's proposals for juries.

Please read this thread so as to be informed about the actual practical problems in the criminal justice system - problems which will not be solved by this misconceived and illiberal tinkering.
Here is a list of reasons why some of my hearings and trials this year have been delayed and kicked off into the long grass, stuck in our record court backlog. Serious allegations which will now be tried *years* after the event. 🧵👇

I had the pleasure of reading the scripts for The Divide when I was working on the cover art. But hearing the episodes has really added extra layers to the story.

The first 7 episodes have now been released with new episodes arriving weekly. If you enjoy audio dramas, you should give this a listen.
Out Now! This week, Rebekah Swift’s investigations put her in danger. June and Paul are introduced to the power behind Michael Maxwell. Download episode 7 of The Divide FREE wherever you find your podcasts. #audiodrama #spythriller #audiofiction #podcast
