Our national forests are precious

My 13 year old daughter is making a canoe and it is pure joy and beauty.

As a dyslexic person it makes me sad that our first dyslexic president isn't someone that you'd want as a role model. You can be smart and do great things while not reading or spelling well. You can't be truly great while being incurious, cruel, and prideful.

An underappreciated reason social media interactions go wrong so often is that so many of them are unnoticed cross cultural interactions.

The 1933 German Federal Election: Nazis 33%. Socialist 20%. The pro Stalin KDP 17%. Both sideism is sometimes really wrong. Whatever their weaknesses the socialist weren't the Nazis. On the other hand just because someone else is very wrong doesn't mean you are right, eg KDP.

Authoritarianism these days is less about canceling elections eg Russia Turkey Venezuela ext. It's more controlling the media and gov apparatus. The average person can't do as much with the latter but you can make sure decent media (such as we have) have a lot of money to cover sprawling corruption

Our National Forests are gems worth stewarding wisely.
